You have here an interesting mix of essay and story. We don't curate essays, not at the moment anyway. Your writing is engaging. It would be good if you were able to write either an essay or a story. Or, if you are going to write a story within an essay (that's OK in some cases), then the story would have to be more complex and certainly longer.
We invite you to return and write another story for this prompt. Since you really like midnight so much, we have the impression that you could write a smashing story. We would like to read that. Remember, the challenge this week is to write a strong arc: beginning, middle and end. Give us a resounding resolution to the conflict you introduce in your story.
