It’s an interesting mechanism to include a story within another because it makes it more interesting. However, although you’ve include a fair amount of action and dialogue in the narrator’s account, the actual story lacks these elements. You could’ve made the actual story less generic and it would’ve worked far better. Also, it’s alway advisable to avoid storylines that impart a moral.
