Your story is a delightful read, @egboncass, even though it's a "nail biter," as they say. Those of us with perennial stage fright can only imagine what it takes to get up on stage and perform — regardless of what you may or may not be wearing.
I had spent the week leading up to the event fighting with everyone from the stylist she sent who kept proposing atrocious outfits to the choreographer who couldn’t seem to understand that I was only given a few minutes as a courtesy to her and I would rather spend that time showing off my abilities as an artist than disgracing my lineage with my nonexistent dance moves.
Your sense of humor is wonderful. But... what sort of performing did you do? That would be an interesting detail!
