RE: Nothing lasts forever | The Ink Well Prompt #79

in The Ink Well3 years ago

This story went in a different direction than some readers might have expected. Instead of regretting their imprisonment, the parrots enjoy the luxurious lifestyle. The character of the elder is a good device for delivering the wisdom in the story. It would have been better (structurally) if the last sentence, the moral of the piece, had been delivered as another gem of wisdom from the larger parrot. As you have it, with you (the author) expressing the moral, the sentence becomes an example of author intrusion.Hello @kirlos,

You did a good job here. You delivered a strong arc and the parrots are credible (even likable) characters. Thank you for sharing this story with us. We appreciate that you engage with other authors in the community.
