You capture in here the uncertainty many of us feel as we evaluate political candidates. So many promises made. So many promises forgotten. Your description of John's character is insightful. We find his cynicism credible. That cynicism doesn't evaporate overnight, but is only changed through experience, only after John and others have been impressed by the good governance of Barrister Peter.
