RE: Words About Childhood

in The Ink Well3 years ago

Hi @ppvicente. Thank you for posting in The Ink Well. However, we would like to call your attention again to our community rules and resources. We are a short story community. A story has characters and a story line. We look for a plot, some character development, some action and dialog. This is an essay about childhood.

A story should come from your imagination. Maybe you imagine a boy named Bill who has a particularly interesting childhood because he grows up in a house next to train tracks. Maybe he has little dog named Sammy, and Bill must always keep an eye on Sammy because he doesn't want Sammy to go near the tracks. Do you see how a story takes shape? It involves characters and drama.

Please read our community rules. You will find them at the top of The Ink Well community home page, which explain that we only accept short stories in our community. And see our catalog of fiction writing tips, which includes great articles on the craft of fiction writing.
