Having lost my composure, I frantically waved my hands around like an idiot in an attempt to reach the surface which proves futile as I just keep sinking back. Soon, I involuntarily started swallowing water as I instinctively opened my mouth to shout for help. Fortunately, as I was sinking further, I regained my calm and was able to reach the surface, where I began coughing. With my remaining strength, I slowly swam to the shore. Only once I reached the shore and feel the ground under my feet did I feel relieved. Sitting down, I began coughing again, and one of my cousins, spotting me, inquired as to why I was coughing.
“Nothing, I just accidentally swallowed water while I’m swimming,” I instinctively answered.

"Am I going crazy?" She asked the air that surrounded her and she was shocked at what happened next.
"No, you aren't, just be calm and listen". Replied a voice.
The voice was strange and soothing but that didn't stop Diana's heart from beating fast.
"I told you to relax, please breathe slowly". The voice said again and she listened, breathing slowly until her heart got back its rhythm.
"Who are you?" Diana asked again, "Can I see you?" She questioned.
"Yes, you can, but don't scream". The voice replied and Diana nodded her head but her mouth opened agape at what stood before her.

Yesterday had been the worst day she had had in her thirty years of existence. It started with her cat being lost in the morning, then finding that her car had abandoned all pretence of locomotion and had booked a ticket to the junkyard. As she was frantically looking for her cat, she came across her math teacher. As her bad luck would have it, the math teacher wanted to engage her in conversation and scold her about unfinished homework from twenty years ago. As she escaped the math teacher's clutches, she ran smack dab into her ex-boyfriend, who was happily swinging hands with her ex-best friend. As she sidestepped the couple, she promptly ran into a tree, and when she turned around, rubbing her forehead, a drone decided to literally add insult to injury. This was followed by a caustic tirade by the drone's 5-year-old owner.

She was predictable in her tactics. She started with one, then gathered others, and the next step was to try to discredit her and expose her objectives. However, Yean didn't eliminate them; she left a subtle message for humanity. Without her, they would not have the lowest percentage of pollution in history or the greatest progress in electronic evolution, as well as the scientific advances she provided. In the end, some humans would always defend her because she was the mother, the god, or the faith that protected them from themselves and overprotected them from harm.

I, with my father, my cousin, my nephews, and many more, went together to complete our prayers. I have missed my elder brother, who isn't here, celebrating in another country, and also my big uncle, who passed away a few years ago. He was dearest to me, and I missed him badly during Eid time. I used to go to him early in the morning and help him to come with us every year, that was one of the mandatory tasks for me, but now he is not here. On Eidgah, thousands of Muslims say their Eid prayers together. That's a beautiful sight to see and feel. We have also visited the graveyard in remembrance of those who left us, praying for them on this joyous day. Can't forget them just because they aren't here now, as we won't be here too for an eternity.

My father's last birthday

In the evening, when the guests began to arrive, my father greeted them with real affection and joy. The meeting with his friends was really very touching, because not only he had words of gratitude for them, but his friends arranged a song that they sang that day. Also the grandchildren dedicated poems to him and even one of them told him a story that moved us to our bones. We had some games and competitions, and each game had prizes. My father handed them out as if he were a naughty little boy or St. Nicholas at Christmas. The birthday was a roulette of emotions and feelings: joy, nostalgia, surprises, hope. We went from laughing to crying, from astonishment to triumph and the satisfaction that everything had turned out beautifully and my father was happy with his party.
