Diana shielded her eyes.
The world around her had suddenly transformed. She could see planets, moons, entire galaxies in the sky.
Down on the beach, her mother and the man were gone. In their stead were two elf-like creatures with pointy ears. The female creature, who wore a torn green dress, wagged her finger at the impish fellow who grinned foolishly at her.

From Strangers To Buddies.

The bond started to grow every night since we were almost of the same age grade and we had a common goal, which was to keep the bad boys away from our community. We would start up a conversation to keep the street busy, we would sing, we would crack jokes, and in time, I started to know each person by their name, their voice, and the way they laughed. All of this began to foster the spirit of camaraderie in us all, so much so that we even created a WhatsApp group for our community as nobody is more, and nobody is less.

‘Interesting’, he said. I put my arms around his neck while we stared intently into each other’s eyes while swaying to the sound of the music. At that moment, I forgot everything, and I just wanted to be there for a really long time, not wanting it to end. I could swear that it was the first time I experienced that with someone I barely knew.
After what seemed like a long time, he asked us to step outside. I checked my time; it was 9:00 p.m. ‘I have to go home soon’, I told him.
He looked disappointed. ‘Stay with me?’, he asked.

Celia gaped in shock at the sight of her lover, Bran. His posture unyielding, he narrowed his deep-set eyes, the colour of warm coffee. "You ghosted me and ran to hide on this planet?" His dark voice gave no room for argument. "I was worried something terrible had happened to you."
Celia coughed softly and directed a glance towards Kayla at the reception desk who gazed at them intently. Not ready to be the topic of gossip in the office, she grabbed Bran by the arm and pulled him along with her.

Five minutes had passed, and he had to proceed to take a walk around the neighborhood for 25 minutes and then proceed to sleep until the next day.
"Time is a ghost that only remains to be remembered," he said and quickly got dressed to go out.
Before going out, he activated the Pomodoro and left the apartment.
"I accept," was the answer.

The year was 1990 and Sam together with over 3000 soldiers drawn from the member nations of Ecowas were deployed to Liberia to intervene in the ongoing crises. Sisi remembered that night like It was yesterday. She cried holding on to Sam like she would never see him again. “How am I supposed to do this alone?” The couple had just welcomed an adorable baby girl the week before.
