What Do I Worry About?

However I wrote down 2 areas I knew I could trust on a post-it and pinned it to the top of my mirror. Every time I glanced at that mirror, I saw them boldly written, PLAYWRIGHT and THEATRE FACILITATOR.

There were still days when I wanted to take that post-it off and replace it with one bearing ACTOR or THEATRE ADMINISTRATOR because they were the least complicated fields but I thought against it almost immediately.

Double punishment for deceit.

I locked the door to the house and headed straight to CMS field, a popular open field where kids, mostly out of school, play football all day. I joined the kids to play football.

In those days, if you placed food and football side-by-side for me to pick one, I would go for football.

I played for hours with the other kids before remembering to go back home. I asked for the time from one of the players with a wristwatch and I was told that the time was 12 pm. I quickly picked my shoes and ran home. On a normal day, my father used to return from the farm by 4 pm but since to him, I wasn't feeling well that day, his time of return could be anytime.

Ernestina's indiscreet pen

Ernestina, at 65 years old, was a reserved person. She found it hard to express herself in words. She showed her love in a different way... Although she never attended cooking school, she prepared exquisite dishes. They were praised by all her guests. One day she decided to prepare a special meal for the birthday of her daughter, Mathilde. That day was different. The hustle and bustle of going from one place to another, checking the notebook of apocryphal recipes would turn into an unexpected adventure.

-Ernestina, what are you standing there for? You look like a mummy. Please bring me the red pot. The one your grandfather gave me.

The Sous Chef

“Chef Enzo,” he called out, his voice trembling with nervousness and uncertainty “permit me to fill in for chef Andy today.”

The bustling kitchen fell silent as every gaze turned toward Enzo’s direction.

“What are you insinuating?” Chef Enzo probed.

“I may be a lowly dishwasher but I know more than you think I do. I know my way around the kitchen and I wouldn't let you down, chef.

The girlfriend did it

“I can't believe my eyes!” his father exclaimed, then winced in pain and held his head.

“Those dishes have been in my family for generations, they're priceless. I ask again, why is she stealing them?!” his mother shouted.

Faye and the other officers looked on in amazement. At least the thief had been identified. Jake looked up then down, he bit his lips and wished the ground would open up and save him. The other officers asked him the address of his girlfriend.

Eunice would take Darien by the hand and lead him to where the mother was. The bent figure and whitish hair caught the attention of the man's eyes, which had watered to the point of bursting into tears. “Mother?”

“Son, my pretty little boy, what a joy to see you after so long!” The mother's arms were busily reaching for Darien.

“My beautiful mother, I apologize for not coming to visit you so often. I got so absorbed in work that I forgot you." The embrace came without waiting and the two melted into one soul.
