A CALL TO REALITY

As the time to say our Goodbyes arrived. Different eulogies of the good deeds Mr and Mrs Chigozie had done poured out from the mouths of many. Their kind and generous acts flowed in the words of the speaker. And as they slowly lowered the casket to the ground, it was like a kick in the guts. A lump formed in my throat, I became very cold at the realization that John's parents had indeed left us to the otherlife. I wasn't dreaming, it was in fact very real.

The gush of emotions that flooded me at that point was almost overwhelming. I couldn't stop the tears from rolling as the casket collided with the earth. The splash of mud and dirt stained the neatly carved wood.

My Gypsy Friend

I am 23 now, just rounding up with college and I am not mistaken that the man who recently sits by the gate of the college, making music with a flute and tambourine, is that same gypsy who I had lost contact with.

Only this one can no longer look into my sea-blue eyes because his irises are white, almost the same color as his pupils. I make sure to drop a dollar note in his kaftan every time I walk past him because he never takes off his cap.

A Traveling People

“Shhhh,” Mahala hushed, rubbing her back gently. “Come, come,” she said and stood up. Her husband followed. They walked out the door with Vinnie clinging to her neck. Outside, there was a caravan waiting with people and children. She pulled back from Mahala’s neck and looked towards the village; from afar, a great smoke rose into the sky, and almost all the huts had been burnt to the ground.
Mahala drew close and dropped her into the caravan; there were other children inside, too.

Gypsy wedding

Troy found the whole situation very rushed and when he realized he was dancing with the girl, at that moment and looking into her eyes he could see the transparency and sincerity of her soul. In Davina, he found that which he had lost with Ester, and then he smiled.

"Well, well, at last, I see a smile from Mr. Bitter. Haha." Davina's eyes seemed to sparkle more under the glowing lights.

A Gypsy

"It's because he is my grandson, or rather he was. Now he's a lost soul, a leaf in the wind, trying to find way to his roots, not knowing he willingly let go of the trees and its branches in the first place."
"Why then don't you let him in? Why not allow him back into the fold?"
"Once a leaf has been cut off, it can't join back. It has to find a way to form its own tree, its own fold."
A knock sounded on the door and I went to open it, Tommy stood looking small at the doorway.
I peered behind him and saw Dorku tied up glaring daggers at his back.

Crush

Picture generated using MetaAI

I shut my eyes and cursed. I felt like a coward.
I could feel Millie gradually slipping off my hands. She has already started telling me about her crush on the new guy in school Pascal.
I turned to look at Jeff, but he was already on his phone. It must be his girlfriend, Cynthia. I could tell from how engrossed he was in his conversation that he barely paid any attention to me. I shut my eyes again and let the wind from the window blow on my face. It felt soothing, relieving me from the temporary pain.
