Birthday Apocalypse

Suddenly what happened to be fun at first turned to chaos. As the dragon roared breathing out fire from its mouth. It shook its tail violently, knocking over the stage. The loud cheers turned to murmurs, tiny screams and cries from scared babies.

"Tommy, get over here?" Mrs Kenny called out to Tommy, who was stunned, staring at the dragon. To the magician, she asked, "Is that supposed to be normal?" Tommy's mum asked the magician.

" I don't know. It wasn't supposed to be this big. I must have cast the wrong spell" the magician replied, wide eyed and stumbling backwards.

Tears On A Drunken Nigh

t was hard watching Michael cry. He almost never cried, he was the one who cheered us up when we cried.
He tried pretentiously to clean it up and pack it all back in but he was doing a terrible job.
I just sat beside him, humming and nodding my head to the music, pretending not to notice.
The club music had changed to a slower softer tone, probably for slow dances. Certainly not the best mood for the situation but on the plus side we could hear ourselves better.
"Jacob... What should I do now?" Michael asked.

“So, what's the gender, doctor?” Luke went straight to the question without beating round the bush.
“Hmmm, from this scan, the baby seems to be a female.” As the doctor said this, Nancy's head drooped a little and the warmth she had been feeling, fled. She peeked at the couple and could see frowns tugging where smiles had been.
The doctor, as if noticing the tension that had set into the room quickly added, “We can't be too sure yet. Sometimes, the scan could be wrong. We have had situations like that.”

Instead of a reply, I yelled in surprise “Congressman Xander? You're X?” I asked, looking over to Sandra. “You're behind all this. Why?”

“Fun! For fun!” He yelled back at me. “When you have so much wealth. You become creative on ways to enjoy it”.

"And this is what you were creative with?" I asked.

"Not just me, my friends too. I actually bet that your friend will be amongst the first ten to zap out of existence" he gave another croaky laughter.

Fiction: A day to remember

Wow, what a great throw for a three-year-old! The ball flew through the air and landed in front of the owner, a five-year-old boy with straight brown hair who was smiling with charming dimples.

Darlyn squealed excitedly, wanting the ball to be passed to her in a hurry. The child turned and threw the ball blindly, causing great astonishment among the adults to see where it had landed.

The ball instantly broke Darlyn's birthday piñata in the shape of the main character from the movie Moana, and it was horrifying to see all the candy and sweets inside fall on the Moana-themed cake.

The Second Chance

The first few hours of the first day felt so slow. Studying felt so hard. My brain was still tired, and the thought of what I had to cover overwhelmed me. I gave up a few times. Still, I kept going, taking it one subtopic at a time. To keep myself motivated, I set small goals - when I finish a chapter, I’ll take a short break, then move to the next topic. I bought a few provisions that I ate as I studied to keep myself energized and I also downloaded a series. After studying hard each day, I rewarded myself with an episode of the series. Slowly, the bulky material began to make sense. With each topic I mastered, I grew in confidence.

Moments to be cherished

"Mum, where is grandma?" I asked with my voice shaking.

"Your grandma is no more" mum replied as the tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

At that moment, words failed me; I didn't know what to do, if I was to sit or roll myself on the floor and cry like my sister. I stood there in shock with my legs glued to the ground when suddenly a cold breeze blew my skin, and goosebumps started developing on my skin.
