A match made in heaven
"I met my husband in the most romantic way possible," I always say. Then I pause for effect before delivering the punchline: "On the internet, twenty six years ago."
Back then, not everyone was online, but I was, curating a community for my job, and, apparently, for my future. He was just an avatar in a group I moderated, where the golden rule was: No caps lock, we don’t yell here. I must have typed that a hundred times a day. You know the Internet Etiquette, so please act on it.
And then he appeared.
A Match Made In Laughter
Before I could look back at him, he said hi again, and he continued saying hi with a warm smile and bright mischievous eyes. And before I knew it, my face flushed red, and I gave him a shy smile and said Hi to him again.
He grinned “I knew you would look better if you smiled," he said.
When the big cat is back the rats hide in their holes
They claimed their horses and rode off to the palace, and as they got to the palace, the trumpet of life was blown to welcome their prince. The incumbent king and his entourage could not believe their eyes seeing Juliobli Sense back looking as handsome as ever with this strange, beautiful princess-like lady, but they wanted to play along since they knew that he hadn't brought anything. The people of sense gathered in thousands and millions to welcome their crown prince who left a year ago to the land of the spirit and was back with a beautiful princess-like lady.
A Home Away From Home in The East
The ride to the East was a very long, cold, and, scary one. The children huddled close to each other covered in skimpy blankets and mostly praying through the ride. They occasionally flinched at darting sounds and hisses whenever the truck slowed down at military checkpoints. They soon grew accustomed to the sharp flashlights on their pitiful faces and backpacks whenever the soldiers did a routine check. At dawn, they arrived on the outskirts of the Eastern town of Udu and were greeted by the humid air that soothed their dry skin and cracked lips.
There's Love In Lagos After All
Two weeks later, Mrs Asher came home with her tiny beautiful baby girl, Joju carrying the baby's things in his hand. The neighbors were already waiting in front of their apartment, including I, my dad and my brother. The excitement we all felt was palpable in the air and it was hard to keep it down. We welcomed them and Mother handed over the keys to her. We watched as she turned the key in the lock and opened the door. She took a step into the apartment. Our chests were tight with tension as we wondered how she was going to take the surprise we had prepared for her.
The Unbeatable One
Muhammad searched with his eyes to see Fatima smiling, losing his focus on his opponent who used the opportunity to throw a swift unforgiving punch to his side. Muhammad staggered backwards clutching his side.
"What's wrong, champion? Losing your edge because of a woman?" Abdulsalami teased realizing that Muhammad was focused on a girl instead of the match. He vowed to use it to his advantage.
Muhammad shook his head off the pain and stood his ground. His fist was still raised. Abdulsalami was right, a love he buried for years was causing him the match. Was it going to be his downfall?
