Emeka was from a struggling home, he had known abject poverty right from his mother’s womb. He had four siblings and as the first born, he always had to take care of his siblings while his mother was away, looking for ways to make ends meet.
His father—Mr. Okereke was no where in the picture, he packed his bag one day and decided he was no longer interested in the marriage.
"Okereke, why are you packing your bag, are you going somewhere?" His wife asked surprisedly.
"I’m done with this marriage, since I married you, my life has taken a turn for the worse, it's like the only thing you are good at is procreating, I work and work, yet nothing to show for it, having to take care of you and five children…is not something I want to carry on doing."
"Is this some joke or what? How will I take care of five children alone? You got married to me and said you wanted your house to be filled with the laughter of children, because you were an only child. Now that children are here, you are complaining." Ada replied angrily whilst adjusting the wrapper tied around her waist.
"I’m done with this marriage, there is nothing anyone will say that can change my mind. Do you want me to die of poverty because I’m taking care of you and your children? God forbid"
He eventually left, all pleas to stay fell on deaf ears.
"Daddy, please don’t leave us, everything will be alright soon please" Emeka knelt and pleaded with his father, admist tears.
Unfortunately, Okereke was not touched by any of these, his mind was totally made up. He pushed Emeka aside and walked out of the compound without turning back. This was when the real life of penury began.
Emeka’s mother went to the market everyday(she was a food seller), whenever Emeka and his siblings closed from school, they would go home and Emeka would take care of them, especially as their mother was away most times. This hard life went on and on—most times Ada was not able to meet up with expenses of her children, she then stopped them from going to school, at some point she could only afford a miserly meal once a day for herself and her children.
As time went on, from doing menial jobs, Emeka was able to sponsor himself through school, to the university level. He graduated with flying colours and made his mother so proud.
Luckily, he secured a job in a reputable company, and in no time he got several promotions as a result of his outstanding skills and his salary became so impressive. He was now able to settle his siblings and mother and soon Emeka got married to a beautiful wife and together, they had three children. He became so rich and influential but the transition from poverty to riches made him an arrogant man.
Emeka established his tech company some years later; Emy-TECH boasted of an edifice on Broad Way—it was one of a kind, a major breakthrough for him, but he forgot his humble beginnings, he forgot about his mother’s teachings on kindness, the wealthier he became, the more his arrogance.
One day, he had a minor argument with his secretary and in a fit of rage, assaulted and humiliated her, right in the glare of the other staff. Fed up with his illtreatment of everyone around him, another staff of his' took a video of the incident and immediately uploaded it online;
THE REAL FACE OF THE ALMIGHTY EMY-TECH
This went viral and gathered over a million views in two days.
Human rights activists asked for his blood. Lawsuits were slammed against him, his competitors swarmed in on him—sponsors and foreign investors started pulling out, international brands cut off ties with him, his close allies in the business field deeply frowned at his actions and turned away from him. Even his family members were so sad at whom he had become and blamed him so much, for dragging the family's name into the mud.
His arrogrance had caught up with him, destroying everything he had built over the years.
On the verge of loosing everything he had worked for all his life, he had to eat the humble pie and apologize publicly to the secretary and then the general public, reassuring everyone that he would turn a new leaf. But opportunity once lost, might not be regained, so Emeka started a downhill journey, back to where he started from—rock bottom. He had an opportunity to be wealthy and pass it on to generations on a platter, but he chose to throw all that away.

Thank you very much for your continuous support 🙏
Good one from that perspective.
A tune of warning for the opportune ones and the ones who came from the lower class to prime on self-control and sincerity.
I support @tranquil3 on this one.
It's so unfortunate that Emeka forgot his humble background as soon as he rose to success. He shot himself in the foot, let him deal with it.
There is nothing that beats humility, now he had to lose everything he labored for. He will have to learn the hard way.
Arrogant and pride is every man's downfall. Acknowledging his mistakes is the greatest of them all. That will bring back everything he has lost
