Conspiracy

Janet worked as a special agent with the FBI. She had just stepped out of the FBI headquarters when a man ran up to her and handed her a flash drive. He looked disturbed and scared.

“Please take this flash drive. The secrets in there are mind blowing. I believe you will do the right thing with it. I have to go now before they find me. Be careful Agent Janet” The man said as he left in a hurry.

“Wait, who are you? Who are they? How do you know my name?” Janet tried to ask the man as he scampered away but she didn’t get any reply.

It was a weird encounter, but it made Janet curious as to what was on that drive that made him so worried.

When Janet got home, she connected the flash drive to her computer and her jaw dropped on seeing what was in it. In that drive was evidence of a secret organization made up of some of the most powerful and influential people in the world. There were photos and documents proving that this organization was behind the fall of governments, manipulation of world economies, and many worldwide atrocities. She saw a list of names of those who were part of the organization and there were a lot of high ranking government officials in it.

Immediately, she thought about telling her boss, the FBI director, James about it. This was huge, way bigger than her, and she knew she had to involve him. For some reason, she printed copies of the contents of the drive, so that she wouldn’t have to show him the drive yet. The next day, she went to meet her boss in his office.

“Can I speak with you for a minute sir?” Janet asked

“Yes, please sit down.” James replied.

“I have evidence of the existence of a secret elite organization responsible for all manner of crimes around the world. You won’t believe the names that are part of this organization” Janet said as she handed all of the documents she printed out to her boss.

What was interesting was the fact that her boss didn’t look surprised. Janet just observed him with keen interest.

“This is huge. We have to look into this further, but for now, you have to keep this on a low. No one else should know about this because of its sensitive nature. We need to ascertain the nature of what we’re dealing with here.” James said

“Alright sir” Janet said as she left the office.

As soon as Janet left, James picked up his phone to make a call.

“I know who has the flash drive. It’s one of my agents, Janet” James said to the person on the other end of the call.

“She’ll be taken care of. She won’t be a problem” James further said and ended the call.

When Janet got home later that night, she noticed something strange. Her door was unlocked. She got suspicious and pulled out her gun. She silently walked in to check if someone was in her room. She checked her living room and it was clear. Just as she was about to go check the kitchen, two masked men attacked her from behind. She got into a struggle with them. Being a trained agent, she was able to weaken them long enough for her to escape. She got into her car and drove off, not knowing where exactly to go. She knew now that her life was in danger, and she needed a safe place to hide. She remembered that her father’s friend, Wilson, was a former agent, so she decided to go to his place. Uncle Wilson, as Janet would call him, was really dear to her. They have been close since Janet was a kid.

Janet wondered how much of a coincidence it is that she got attacked on the same day she told her boss about this secret organization. She had a strong conviction that James was involved and she was determined to confirm that.

“Janet, is everything okay?” Wilson asked as he opened his door for Janet to come in.

“Everything is not okay Uncle Wilson. I’m in danger” Janet replied.

“What! What happened?” Wilson asked, looking worried.

“You’re going to want to sit down for this one” replied Janet.
She narrated everything to Wilson.

“You are in a lot of trouble my dear. I know about that organization. It’s made up of powerful and dangerous people. They could make anyone disappear without a trace. They have overthrown governments from the shadows. They have influenced global markets. These people are the 1% of the 1%. They have unlimited resources to do whatever they want. Very few people know about them, and unfortunately for you, you’re one of those few” Wilson

“Oh my God” Janet said, already scared. She couldn’t believe what she had gotten herself into.

“You are now a threat to them and they would do anything to eliminate threats. Your boss is most likely part of them” said Wilson.

“Let’s check the flash drive again and see if there are more names and information hidden in it” said Janet.

They checked thoroughly and James’ name was there. That wasn’t the most shocking part. The Vice president of the country, Mike is also part of it. Furthermore, Janet and Wilson found out that there was a plan by this organization to coordinate a terrorist attack from the shadows that would lead to the president’s assassination.

Janet was in shock but she was determined to spoil their plans and expose that organization. The next morning, Janet got a call from James.

“Janet, where are you? I want come and see you to discuss how we will go about investigating what you showed me” James asked

“Please drop the pretense sir. I know you sent those guys that attacked me at my house. I know you’re part of the organization, I know your people are planning to assassinate the president and I’m going to thwart your plans” Janet said.

“Come on Janet, just surrender the flash drive, forget about everything and your life will be spared. Don’t make this harder than it already is” James said.

“Goodbye sir” Janet said as she ended the call.

The president was supposed to give a speech at a conference hall that night and a bomb had been planted already. The plan was to detonate the bomb as soon as the president’s speech started.

Janet was on her way to the venue to try and warn president Maxwell, but she looked at the side mirror of her car and saw a van approaching her at high speed. A bunch of men from the van with guns opened fire on her. She managed to maneuver her way, lost them, ditched the car, and got another car to continue her journey to the conference hall.

Janet got there and it was already time for President Maxwell’s speech. The president was already present. Janet managed to intercept the president and his security detail. She narrated everything to the president, who was evacuated from the venue immediately.

A minute after the president left, the bomb went off.

The president was taken to a secure location and they made it look like the president died in the blast.

Immediately, Vice president Mike held a press conference blaming Agent Janet for the bomb attack. She was labeled a terrorist and a manhunt for her began.
Meanwhile, Janet gave the flash drive to the president and her team. All was set to arrest everyone involved in that organization. The president held a press conference that night that was televised.

“My dear countrymen, this is a sad day, however, I am glad to be alive. There was an assassination attempt on my life by an elite shadow organization. This organization includes the Vice President, the FBI director and many other top ranking government officials. They are all being arrested as we speak. Thanks to the brilliant Agent Janet who saved my life, this organization and their atrocities have been exposed.”

Uncle Wilson watched the president’s press conference on television with a smile on his face. This was what he wanted. He made that man give the flash drive to Janet in the first place because he knew she would do everything to expose the organization. Wilson always wanted to be part of the organization, but he wanted to be the leader. He wanted those involved in the organization out first, so that he can take over and build it over again. His plan worked to perfection and he was ready to take over.
