Oh poor, Caesar. Why will they allow an intelligent and smart bird like that to end up in a coal mine.

It's sad it ended that way and truly, it is their loss. I enjoyed this amazing piece, cheers.

Thank you for sharing your new story, @trudgencia. Before we curate, we ask that you please fix your image source link. Please link directly to the image page, vs. to the artist and to the Pixabay site.

I fixed it - sorry bout that. I thought I had it right the first time. I know how to link it for future posts now -

Thank you for taking care of that, @trudgencia. Your story is intriguing and an enjoyable read. What a smart bird! And we must ask: Is this the same Cassie from your first story?

Nope, just happen to like the name.

Gosh, I really felt bad for that bird! The fact that he kept singing until his last moments—I really teared up when he stopped singing... it's so sad, yet I felt happy for Caesar because, finally, he's with his Cassie. Thanks for sharing such a touching story, @trudgencia...

Good day!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story. It's my favorite story I've written so far.
