Cancer is a difficult ailment both for the sick and their friends and family members. Every little light they can find is a beautiful thing. The character did well.
I wonder what the car signified for Mark? Was it a way to remind himself of simpler times? Why red? I feel a good story should leave me with unanswered questions.
I noticed, an issue with tenses, especially in the first paragraph. I guess you were rushed. I sometimes read my writing later, only to groan at the errors I have made. I don't often read my writing once published. 😂
