I scrap and salvage.
This has been a very good one for me. I found a box of Barbies that were still in original packaging along side the road.
Where I live, people set things that are too good for trash, but that they no longer want, alongside the road.
Lots of times, it will be light fixtures, microwaves and old televisions.
But this time, it was Barbie from Mattel. Most of the dolls are 20 years old. I put one or two up for auction each day and the results have been very good.
Today, Olympic Barbie sold.
This one has been listed for nearly a week, so I was happy to see her going to a new home.
This is the Olympic Fan edition from the Sydney 2000 Olympics. The fan series represents each country and this one is Puerto Rico. I found this amusing since Puerto Rico isn't a country but a territory. I wonder if individual states were represented as well.

The Olympic Fan Barbie comes with a medal, so I guess she placed in the fan category! Also, she comes with a tiny plastic water bottle. Spectating is a thirsty sport! The back of the box advertises other Barbies including Swimming Champion, which can swim freestyle and do the backstroke!
The box of Barbies continues to be a good return. This doll was about $14 of profit. I have a few more in the box and I will continue to list them on auction sites. My total return should be greater than $150 of profit. So that's a pretty good find alongside the road.
