Vessels of blessings

in Christianity3 years ago

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to eat, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.Matthew 25:35,36 NIV.

God puts us in positions where we can be His instruments of blessings to those around us. Last year a woman came to my house at 6.00am with a large abscess on her buttock accompanied by a young girl. I was to go and take care of my hospitalized dad and therefore my schedule was tight. Should i ask her to go or help her and maybe be late to hospital? The passage from Matthew rang in my mind. The thought came to me that God may have placed me there to be a channel of blessing to this woman. I treated her like the woman of Samaria and the next day three people came seeking help. This trend continued till we established a school for the poor children.
God has placed every man and woman in the position they find themselves in, high and low alike, to be His channel to bless others. It can be giving alms, giving a ride, praying with the afflicted, counselling the troubled, or inviting the less privileged or disabled to your home.
What is your position? A hivean?steemean?A housewife?mother?teacher?peasant?storekeeper?professor?pastor?nurse?doctor?bus driver? Blogger? If you are willing to be used by God, He will provide opportunities for you to reach out to others. Every case we see is a unique opportunity to respond, to provide for the needs of other, to be the channel to bless others.
