In an organic movement, where Marcelo Grosso's pile picked up momentum with the participation of Tio Verde, Thyago Hypolito, Baba de Lex and myself, it was added to the structured strength of PROJECT by the vision of nerdskater Leo Vlad and came to life with Pharrá's TANGENT, closing with a golden key at an event led by the giant Mel Garcia. you can't imagine what a mess that was! hahahaha
The intention was always clear, but the path - tortuous - made the realization time-consuming. With each obstacle, a new person was added and, with that, we multiplied the desire to make this tribute come true. AND THAT'S HOW WE DID IT!
Renovated by Tangente Skateparks, thanks to money from NOUNS, the rink has been given a new look, ready to welcome not only veterans, but also inspire new generations of skaters from Rio, reaffirming that skateboarding, even Olympic skateboarding, goes far beyond a sport: it is CULTURE, RESISTANCE and LIFE.
The EU PLANTO SKATE event was a celebration of this transformation. It was a reunion of friends, families, collectives and skaters from various generations - a true moment of fraternization, where the urban spirit and the passion for skateboarding came together.
In addition to the reopening of the Mini Ramp, the strength of the event was the tribute to our beloved JB, the eternal Jadson Brian, whose lines - both skate and degree - left a deep mark on Rio's skate culture. His brief life, marked by friendship, dedication and teaching linked to skateboarding, spans time, inspiring every maneuver and every memory projected on the big screen during the event.
Without mincing words, the energy was PHODDA! This was reflected when we saw several children, daughters and sons of skateboarders, playing and discovering their passion for skateboarding, while the “best trick” was awarded, bringing together three representatives from different generations. THAT'S SO COOL!!! This action clearly showed what we expect from the “Mini do JB”: the continuity and evolution of a culture that is never extinguished.
Today, the EU PLANTO SKATE legacy is more alive than ever. Every impulse, every maneuver, every smile recorded at this meeting is proof that skateboard culture is made up of people, stories and a unique energy that, even without elaborate strategies, is born from the core and overflows through action.
Now and in the future, we will continue to plant skateboarding - cultivating friendships, strengthening traditions and inspiring new generations to dope, dream and, above all, LIVE THIS CULTURE.
