when you upvote things on hive, you arnt GIVING away your hive, you are DELEGATING hive to go toward that post/comment from the REWARDS pool.
you also EARN curation HIVE for everything you upvote. so upvoting things does the opposite of giving away your hive, you GAIN hive when you upvote, your voting power just decreases, but it recharges every 24 hours.

That was a rant. but my homie who is also new to hive accidently delegated me all his hive power because he thought he was supposed to or something.ask me anything about how hive works any time and i will explain if i @knowhow92. i have been using hive for six years and still i cant explain the hardcore stuff about how the tokenomics work and where the money comes from... from what i understand it comes from the "inflation of the hive token" which is written in code to mint a certain amount of hive tokens ... im not sure the number. so that amount that is minted, is distributed to the users by way of the users upvoting content, thereby "delegating stake" towards those posts/users. dont get confused with the "delegation" terminology that is in your wallet tab in your profile. that is for delegating HIVE POWER to other users. so you can still own your hive, but sort-of
