Yo fam, what's up?

It's been a weird week for me in terms of skateboarding, but thankfully it's all over now! And here's what happened:

On Tuesday night, me and the homies met at the dojo to chill and skate, and after a failed Bs Bigspin attempt while warming up, I felt my left knee starting to go numb at the front and tightening at the back. A feeling I’ve never experienced before! I stopped skating for a few minutes thinking it was something that would go away, but it didn’t. As soon as I stepped back on my board, my knee felt like it had lost 50% of its strength, causing me instability. I listened to my body and stopped skating, but I also started worrying that something bad had happened. You see, a friend of mine tore his ACL right in front of me a couple months ago and just went through surgery last week. So now, anytime I feel something weird in my knees, I get instantly worried lol!

Anyway, that night I went home still feeling like something was off with my knee, and went to sleep. The next day I wasn’t feeling bad, but not good either. My knee still felt weak, but the numbness was gone and there was no swelling. I don’t mess around with injuries, so I hit up my homie Paul and booked a few physio sessions to get better. Did a couple — mostly shockwave and ice therapy — and didn’t skate for the next 3 days. Woke up on Saturday feeling OK, but wasn’t 100% sure till I actually stepped on my board.

Later that day, me and the crew met at the local skatepark. After a bit of chit-chat, I started warming up by cruising around. Even though there was no pain, I decided to take it easy and just skate some transition. But then it hit me… what if I waxed the cement ledge right next to the ramp and finally learned Slappy Grinds?! And that’s exactly what I fcking did! Felt fcking amazing landing my first Slappy 50-50 and Crooked! Super stoked! Slappy Grinds feel awesome!

Slappy Crooked

I was hyped to learn more, was trying Slappy 5-0s actually, but suddenly the clouds gathered and it started raining hard. So we had to flee to either the dojo or another roofed spot if we wanted to keep skating. After a quick convo, we decided to go to Zosimaia, a legendary spot here in my hometown. Our own mini-MACBA! It’s been months since I last skated Zosa, and oh boy, nothing feels better than skating flat on Zosa’s perfect marble! Combined with the 2 marble ledges, it’s the perfect spot for rainy days (and not only)!

We skated there for a couple more hours, drank a few beers, and of course, stacked some more clips hehe! It was one hell of a Saturday sesh! As for today, I’m just taking it easy, chilling at the house and planning my upcoming trip to Istanbul! 9 days and counting hehe!

Thanks for checking out my post everyone and as always...

its cool you have access to doctors in greece. free health care aye?

Well, my homie Paul is a physiotherapist and for easy stuff like that he won't let me pay! He just wants to heal skaters hehe!

As far as free healthcare, I could go to a private doctor any time, pay him around $30 and he can give me a paper I can give to the physiotherapist for 10 free physios. I didn't need that many physios so no need to go through this!

Greek citizens can also go to the public hospital, it's free for everyone but it's so crowded it will take hours for not so "heavy" stuff like my knee to get checked! No way I'm going through this hehe!

wow thats cool you are going to instanbul
so much for not traveling to save money huh?

Yeap, we'll be going there by car! It's just a 10h drive from where I live!

Everything's super-cheap at Instanbul and has some DOPE spots to skate! We booked 6 nights of accomodation for $180 total (2 persons). I also know a few locals, been there before, so I'll go skate for a day or two hehe!

Btw, here's a video the guys from Instanbul put out a few weeks ago! It's really good!

Big fun of Jante brother! Every new Jante video is a blessing!

How did you climb that?
Does the skateboard have a gum?
It didn’t remove when you jumped…
