I remember one day passing by this spot with Marcello Formiguinha, and he immediately spotted that gap and told me, 'You can get some sick shots there.' That stuck in my head because, to be honest, I had never seen any possibility of skating there. I just couldn’t see a way back—it was all sand!

So one day, I invited Rhuan Couzzin to shoot this photo, and he was immediately down despite all the challenges that spot had. I had a very specific time in mind, linked to the lighting conditions I envisioned for the shot. The place is always crowded, with tons of sand all around, making the way back even tougher!
