So I wanted to participate in this contest hosted by @kephler and was thinking about what kind of card I'd like to see exist. One thing that came to mind with the current Zombie cards is that there are no cards where leech heals the creature, not the god so I figured a Vampire would fit well in that regard.
I looked up this image on google searching for vampire digital art, sourced to where I found it which mentions the artist above. Figured it fits well in Diamond with the background color.
I wasn't too sure on the mana cost, could've maybe worked better with a 6 but didn't want it to become too overpowered. The 5 Attack may not be much but it has more HP so it can clear a lot of creatures each turn on or under 5 HP and keep itself alive. The "gain hidden during your opponent's turn" I added cause it would give it some more survivability and it would fit well with how vampires operate, i.e. they go into hiding when it's daytime (not that it makes too much sense but it's something).
Giving it ward would probably make it too overpowered, though I wouldn't be surprised if that would be the first iteration of the GU team if they were to add this one. xD

Sending 80% of the post rewards away to some projects I think could use some more rewards due to the autovotes I usually get after I didn't spend that much time/effort on this.
There currently isn't any creature that heals itself but there are changing Mire Bloodworm in the Core Set Refresh to do this: "Heal this creature for the damage it deals".
Also the current wording for gaining hidden based on Shadow of Lethenon is: "At the end of your turn, this creature gains hidden".
Vampire Lord is kinda OP, it is almost unkillable, hidden means you can never target it and there are very few spells that destroy all creatures, or randomly target/AOE for more than 7 damage.
The zombies are Nether tribe which are demons and undead currently, so vampires would be too.

I wish I understood and enjoyed playing GU more. This contest sounds like a lot of fun, but I sense that actually understanding the mechanics and having an idea for something new matters a lot when creating a proper card.
This Vampire Lord card is dope! It seems like this card would make sense to become an addition to the gameplay (from the little bit that I know about GU).
What is kinda wild is that I just started playing Vampyre a couple of days ago (it’s awesome). In that game, the word for consuming their enemy is “embrace”.
Some new kind of ability called “Embrace” would be cool. I just like that word. Maybe not even a vampire for that one. Perhaps a “Lucid Innkeeper” or something, since they welcome/embrace everyone.

lol you lost me at "to enemies", I would've thought okay maybe overheal also heals your other minions but that one sounds way more tricky. 🤣
