How to Win Most Games
The key to winning any game is gaining control of the game from the beginning. To do this you need to start with low manna cards. Below is a screenshot of my card pack.
You can see cards with 1 manna up to 9 manna, so when selecting cards, my personal strategy is to keep the cards below 3 manna. This is because when the game starts your manna level starts from 1 and as we know we can't play cards with higher manna's, so its advisable when picking your first 3 cards you start with low manna cards this way when its your turn to play you have a card to play and this put you at an advantage if your opponent doesn't have any card to play, you can start with the offense or create a strong defense.
Preference
This simply means which card you prefer most and willing to keep or sacrifice for the greater good. for instance you have a card with strength 3 and health 1 but it is poisonous, and you have another card with strength 3 but health 2 and your opponent has a frontline with health 3, and you need to sacrifice one of your cards, which card do you sacrifice? For me I'd say you keep the poisonous and sacrifice the other reason being that with a poisonous card you can destroy any card no matter its health. You can see this from my video below. But note this is based on a premise that your opponent gods power doesn't have the ability to deal one damage to your card, if so then its best to play your poisonous card so you don't waste it.
To Have Cards
When making your card selection you need to have at least two cards each from this card types
Frontline
Backline
Deal Damage Cards
What are Frontlines
This cards are like barriers and as the name implies they are at the forefront of your battle, and enemies have to destroy such cards first before they can attack your other cards or your gods, unless they have a backline, and this bring us to the next
What are Backlines
This cards have the ability to deal damage to any card even if there is a frontline card, and to attack this card opponent has to destroy all other cards.
Deal Damage Cards
This cards come handy in situations where you probably don't have any cards on your board and your opponent has his/her board full. There are different types, some have the ability to deal x damage to your opponent card, where x is the strength of any random card you control, while some have a fixed damage they can deal to a particular card or spread across all cards on your opponent's board. My favorite is the Hunt. This is a 6 manna card and has the abilty to deal 8 damages spread across all cards on your opponent's deck.
You can read more about the hunt below

Love how you broke down each section of the post. Some of the wording was a little off to me. Like when you say "Deal Damage Cards". Perhaps just damage dealing cards would fit a little better. And then I just have one question why so many singles of cards? It would make your mulligans so much harder on you. keep up the good work. Just wanted to make a few suggestions to help make you as successful as possible on Hive and GU.
Thanks for the suggestions very much appreciated. I prefer single cards because it gives me control at the start of the game
The only downside to a singleton deck is when you mulligan you are trying to draw from a much larger card pull then if you have a double of a card. @copperpitch has a fantastic video on the advantages of more then one copy of a card in a deck. But I always say what is working for you currently stick to it. The more confidence you have in your deck the better you will play it.
