First of all, thank you for reaching out. It's a positive initiative and one I would encourage to happen more often, for other topics. If you need to gather a larger volume of feedback, I suggest creating a Google form and advertising it using a banner in the client.
How would you imagine it to work?
First, I'll start with a tangent: I'd like the option to purchase 125 or 250 or any arbitrary number of cards from the Star Store, at once, with just one click.
Then while the client is open, any changes to my card inventory are picked up automatically, without the need to restart the client or refresh the cache.
When I go to the Forge screen and type 'axewo' I would like to see all the forging options available for Vanguard Axewoman, i.e. all the possible quality tiers. So for example if I have 125 Meteorites, I would be able to see options to forge Shadow, Gold or Diamond, instead of just Shadow as we have now.
An additional refinement would be showing all possible forges while considering any mix of existing cards with different qualities. So for example if I have 90 Meteorite Axewomans, 2 Shadow and 1 Gold, the client would still show the possibility of forging 1 Diamond card directly.
In case I have enough precursors to forge multiple copies at the same quality tier, I would like to indicate how many I would like to forge and do it in a batch, as a single transaction / burn event. So if I have 50 Meteorite Axewomans I would be able to forge 2 Gold cards together.
Once I choose the quality, the necessary cards would be auto-selected for me. This is instead of the current system where I need to click on each of the 5 cards. The cards are all the same, so the choice is meaningless.
When signing the burn transaction, the signing message would wrap all the necessary steps, so that one confirmation would be enough, instead of what we have now with one confirmation for the $GODS fee and one for each of the cards that will be burnt.
What are you trying to accomplish?
The goal is to streamline and automate the forging process as much as possible, reducing the steps taken, the number of clicks and the time it takes to forge a card, especially in the case of skipping quality tiers to forge for example a Gold or Diamond card from many of Meteorite or Shadow quality.
What are the problems you are trying to solve?
The forging process is very slow, especially when forging many lower quality cards into higher quality ones.
The process only allows forging one card at a time.
It requires an inordinate amount of clicking, which compounds the tediousness and slowness of the process.
When confirming wallet operations, a single confirmation would be ideal.
Extra, more complicated features
In case the game ever implements metadata on the cards, those special cards would need to be protected from being burned by accident while forging.
There could be an option forge all cards of the same name (prototype) to the maximum possible quality. In case you have a lot of plain Core cards for example and you just want to forge all of them to the best possible shine. This would result in a mix of qualities, for example 1 Gold, 1 Shadow and 3 Meteorites (also note the very last sub-point at the end).
Complete the forge and sign process without leaving the client. However, there are trust and security issues with wallet integration (remember the backlash here, the doubts and confusion demonstrated here and the team walking back on this implementation). Perhaps this would be possible instead with the integration of the Immutable Passport in the client? A small amount of $GODS and low value cards could be kept there while waiting to accrue enough copies to forge; the forging interface could provide an option to select a different destination address (from a list of linked addresses) for the newly minted cards, so they would automatically go to a safer address.
Option to shine up an entire deck:
Point to a deck in your Workshop and upgrade the quality of all the cards, with some caveats - 1 Gold and 1 Meteorite is better than 2 Shadow for example. The client would then automatically update the deck to include the newly forged cards.
Paste a deck code and forge all cards to the best quality possible.
In either case there would be a toggle to never leave a single copy of non-Legendary cards of quality Meteorite or above, so for example if forging would result in a single Gold Epic card and 1 plain, the client would offer the possibility to automatically forge 2 Shadow cards instead.
