Introduction
About a month ago I registered on LootRush. I started with lending a couple of Diamond Core cards, but after a few days I started renting as well. In this post I'm going to share my experience and results after one month. If you want to try out Lootrush for yourself with a nice bonus you can use my referral link https://www.lootrush.com/sign-up?ref=72d14b63.
If you want to lend your own cards to other players there is also a place for a referral code '72d14b63' when you list new cards. This will also give you a bonus. In order to receive the bonus you have to verify with your Discord account.
You can rent the cards either by paying a daily fee or a monthly Premium subscription. The subscription gives you a spending limit and you can rent any cards you want up to that limit. If you need to rent more cards, you can always rent any extras by paying the daily renting fees, as you would without a subscription.
You can use the fees you collect from lending cards to pay for your own Premium subscription, which is very convenient; but in order to move any funds anywhere, even if just to pay for a subscription, you will need to verify your identity with a Government ID.
Lending
There are no public tools to identify which meta cards are in demand, so I manually went over some popular Core cards and found 2 that had very few offers in Diamond. As a general observation, many Core meta cards used in War decks are high in demand and have very few offers.
I used the partially shined up cards that I already owned and bought from the marketplace what was needed until I could forge everything up to Diamond (it's usually cheaper to forge than to buy directly a Diamond card). So I was able to test the system with a small upfront investment with cards I knew were in demand and would be rented quickly.
When lending we have to transfer the cards over to a LootRush wallet, so we effectively lose ownership of the cards while they are under LR control; but LR has been reliable so far and the cards were not that expensive. But most importantly, the expected ROI should be only a few months for cheap Core cards (if the cards remain always rented), which reduces the risk of Something Bad Happening before I can at least get the principal investment back.
My experience so far is that while asking for reasonable fees, the cards are picked up quickly by renters and stay rented for most of the time. Feeling a bit more confident in the system, I also decided to lend other Diamond cards I got from packs (I never bought any meta Diamond cards before). I'm currently lending 7 cards (not all are meta) and at least 3 of them are being rented all the time. I also own a bunch of Gold cards but the fees for Gold cards are much lower and for the time being, I don't think it's worth the risk and the hassle.
If you have a large collection I recommend setting up a separate wallet to send cards over to LR, because the page where we select the cards to send over gets really irresponsive if you have a lot of cards in that wallet address.
My rough estimation is that renting these 7 cards should be enough to cover the $14 / month premium subscription fee I have right now (if they remain rented, of course), which means I won't need to deposit any more funds to keep renting cards for my own use and I get to keep 100% of the $GODS I get from DP&E.
These are my earnings for the first month. The bulk of the fees come from mostly 3 cards. I'm still adjusting the price of the others to try and get them all rented with minimal interruptions.
Renting
With a premium subscription, I don't have to worry about daily fees or keeping a balance. I just get a maximum spending limit and I rent all the cards I want until that limit is reached. In practical terms this $14 subscription allows me to rent about 6-7 Diamond cards and then a few more Gold.
According to @imx.center excellent calculator, one Diamond card yields about the same $GODS rewards as 5-6 Gold cards. Considering the difference in typical renting fees, it's always better to rent as many Diamond cards as possible first, and only then try to squeeze a few Gold cards in, until the spending limit is reached.
One annoying thing that happens frequently is people trying to raise the renting fees while the cards are rented. So halfway through the week I start losing rented cards and I have to go the website and look for replacements, which wastes time and often results in a less shiny deck.
Shiny decks
Here are a couple of shiny decks I played with recently. Not all the Gold and Diamond cards in the Nature list are rented, some are actually mine. It really helps with earnings if you can add Diamond cards of your own (images below are screenshots from the game client).
Earnings
As a conservative estimate, playing in Solar Gold with an average win rate of 50% would turn my previous baseline average of 5 $GODS / day into 10 $GODS (maybe a bit more), which results in about 5 $GODS * 30 days * $0.20 = expected minimum extra $30 at the end of the month from a $14 expense.
This earnings estimate above includes a few shiny cards I already own, but for most decks I play, it would be only 0-1 Diamonds and 2-3 Golds. It does make a difference, although the bulk of the boost in DP&E rewards still comes from the rented cards. I also own most of the other cards I put in the deck either in Meteorite or Shadow, but even if I didn't, those would be really cheap to also rent from LootRush. So no issues there.
So it feels like a no-brainer good deal to play with rented cards, right? But on top of that, I'm also making money with the cards I'm lending, and with these current 7 I'm on track to almost cover the $14 renting subscription fee with the lending profits. If I get there, then renting becomes effectively free and I get to keep all the $GODS I earn from the game. I may need to forge a few more meta Core cards to make sure, but that shouldn't be a problem with the current earnings and they still pay for themselves pretty quickly.
In a few months, even if the meta shifts, the DP&E rules change or something unexpected happens, I still get a few nice Diamond cards back in my collection, either with a profit or a small loss, which is completely fine.
