Opening 6 Packs of Cards in Gods Unchained, Crap and More Crap Perhaps?

image.png

Once again, I’ve accumulated some card packs in Gods Unchained, and today’s the day to open them and test my luck. I’m usually familiar with the creatures I get from these packs, but perhaps I can hope for better quality today. Who knows?

If you haven’t seen my last post where I opened other packs, click here to check it out. I’ll only highlight a few key creatures, as there’s no need to describe all of them keeping things straightforward and clean works best.

Starting with Hardened Channeler, the neutral Mystic with a 5-mana cost and stats of 4/3. Its Afterlife ability is intriguing enough not to be ignored, useful in combos that involve dealing 1 damage to all enemies or accelerating the death of creatures through the Burn effect.

Onyx Nightblade can be quite useful against frontline decks with only 1 attack but a high health pool. Being a neutral Guild creature with a low 2-mana cost and 1/2 stats, it’s worth considering in any Control or MidRange deck.

Here, it could be an interesting choice between Svart Basilisk and Cursed Caipora. Although Cursed Caipora has lower stats relative to its mana cost, at 1/2 with a 5-mana cost, its advantage is in its Deadly and Protected abilities. Meanwhile, Svart Basilisk has better stats at 4/4 and one less mana cost, along with a Roar ability that removes Sleep from a selected creature.

Tomb Priest might only be useful if your deck includes strong Anubian creatures. Otherwise, it’s just an average 3/3 creature. Wetlands Ogre could be highlighted here instead. With the same mana cost but slightly better stats at 4/5, it’s a more attractive option.

Feral Shapeshifter is undoubtedly a creature worth keeping in your deck. With 4/4 stats and a matching 4-mana cost, it enters the battle Hidden for 1 turn, which means it has a layer of protection when played, preventing it from being eliminated immediately. It also deals 1 damage to a selected enemy creature.

I’ve discussed Burnished Bull in a previous post, so I’ll skip this powerful bull this time. This leaves a choice between Thebian Brawler and Cardshark. Both can serve as Frontline, with Cardshark gaining Frontline through its Roar effect. However, depending on the game situation, I believe Thebian Brawler might be more effective. It has better stats at 3/5, which can help block some of my opponent’s attackers.

Wrapping up today’s pack opening.
As I mentioned at the start, it’s nearly impossible to get something really valuable or game-changing. After all, these packs are earned by leveling up in Gods Unchained, and they’re more like collection boosters for new players. While you can pull Epic or rarer creatures like Tomb Priest, they’re generally outside the main compositions.

So, in total, 24 cards of common rarity have been added. 5 of rare rarity. Finishing with 1 of epic rarity.

With the recent changes to DP&E, Core cards have actually become more valuable and more profitable to sell.

You complain about the packs being worthless, but what do you expect of something that is given freely to every player in such large quantities? I mean if everyone can get these cards just by playing the game, why would people pay a lot of money for them?

I think given the situation the price of the cards is actually not bad.

You didn't understand my point, as I commented at the end of my post. There's nothing more to expect from free packs, although I don't prefer to keep most of the cards I've won. But even so, I still continue to collect packs and open them.

Okay. But turning meta Core cards into Diamond quality and lending in Lootrush at the moment is actually an interesting proposition, so there is value there. And you never know when unpopular cards now may become in demand in a new game mode or when the meta changes.

Although Cursed Caipora's attributes deceive the user, she has great abilities that work together, starting with Deadly and Frontline, which forces the opponent not to ignore her, and depending on Deadly, can execute the other opponent.
