Hello everyone, as I mentioned in the title of this post, this time I want to show you a battle using my Amazon deck vs a War deck. But first, I want to share with you my performance from the last Weekend Ranked. This time I was able to win 12 games out of 18, not bad. So I got 9 packs in total.

This week I managed to get 1 more copy of Managarmr, Moon Hound, so I forged it, this is my first meteorite quality legendary creature, it may not be in meta right now but it's pretty cool.

In a Dread Awakening pack I got Blind Sage in shadow quality, my second shadow card obtained this way.

BATTLE

Now the battle I want to show you is against a Carving War deck, the opponent started by playing 0/1 Lootable Corpse creature and destroyed it with the spell Out of Its Misery, so he could pull a creature from his deck to his hand, and give it +3/3. This spell can give the player a great advantage if he manages to get Guardian of the Pines, who when the creature takes damage the player draws a Carving card from his deck, being able to draw more cards if the creature has more health.

I was able to summon Divya in round 4 (using the extra Crystal Mana). Then, taking advantage of Canopy Sniper's effect on my board (who deals 1 damage to a random enemy creature when I attack with any Amazon), I attacked the opposing god with my amazons, for every attack they made, Cavalry took 1 damage +2 (thanks to Divya), and was defeated quite easily.

After that my opponent defeated Divya, using the spells: Bar Fight (1 damage), Claw and Fang (2 damage) and Demoralise (1 damage) and his god power (1 damage).

And in the round 6, the opponent summoned the signature card of his deck: Ulrika, Nokkvi Chosen, who when the controlling player uses a spell, she gains Protected and most importantly attacks a random enemy character, so if the player uses a lot of spells Ulrika can defeat all enemy creatures or end the battle by attacking the enemy god directly. Unfortunately for my opponent, his god already had 3 HP, and after playing 2 spells destroying one of my units due to Ulrika's attack, the opponent surrendered.

Maybe my opponent wanted to defeat my 2 and 1 mana amazon creatures with Ulrika, and didn't care if Angry Hyppo was alive since it has the Confused effect, having a 50% chance to attack a different target. This way the opponent would have been able to survive the next round, if on my turn I had not been able to draw a card that could cause damage to the enemy god. I would have attacked with my weapon that deals 2 damage, so the enemy god would have survived with 1 HP. That way, the opponent could maybe summon another Cavalry (leech effect) creature and heal his god, giving him the chance to turn the battle in his favor. That happens when you play a lot :P. This time luck was not on his side and I won the battle.

I believe that Amazon has caught up with War, if only it had more Godblitz cards then it could solidly rival those fast Zoo War and Aggro War decks.

In my experience against aggro war decks, it depends a lot on my starting hand if I can play a lot of low mana units to attack the enemy creatures before they are buffed. And Narcilla, the Huntress is the card that turns the battle in my favor against those decks.

Indeed, I was once killed by Narcilla the moment that I thought that the battle was already in the bag.
