Proudly presents Gods Unchained Deck Challenge, our own tournament

I am very proud to be able to percent to the Publish0x community a project I and Zer0requiem have been working hard on for the last couple of weeks. And that is our own Gods unchained Tournament, and what hopefully will be the first of many more to come. We hope that you the Gods Unchained community will love it just as much as we hope you will.

Gods Unchained Deck Challenge

Let us look at the when first and then take a look at the rest of the more fun and interesting stuff. The when is December 3ed at 16:00 UTC. The signup will be available from today as soon as you see this post. But what is it your signing up for you might ask? Let me tell you.

The tournament is a 1-day tournament limited to 32 players. This means that it is first come first serve. You will get an email response from either of us confirming your place in the tournament or asking if you would consider being a reserve player for the tournament.

The first two rounds will be the best out of 1 matchup. While the remaining rounds will be fought in a best out of 3 games. This means that you will need to prepare 3 decks from 3 different gods. Only one deck per god is allowed. We will ask you to submit the decklists at the latest 2 days before the tournament starts. This is to give any reserve player time to prepare as well. We will provide a link to a form with your email response.

At the start of each round, each player gets to ban one god from being played by their opponents, after knowing what gods they have decks for. This means that for the first two rounds each player will have to pick one of two decks to play. In the best out of three matchups. If you lose with a deck you are no longer permitted to pick that deck for the remaining games in the matchup. And the deck that was victorious will fight the next round again.

There will also be a timer for each round, the first two rounds will be 30 min long, and the best of 3 rounds will have 1 hour.

If you lose a game you will not immediately be eliminated. You will instead be placed in what is called a losers bracket. This means you are eliminated first after two losses. In each round, new players will enter the losers' bracket and face off against the winners there. And if you managed to climb your way to the top there you will face off against the winner of the primary bracket in the finals.

The tournament will require that you have discord installed. Because that is where you will get your matchups, passwords, report results, and get all other sorts of info.

Crafting decks

As we want the tournament to be accessible for all players in the Gods Unchained community we have decided on a somewhat different format than the normal one you might have seen in other tournaments. Instead of allowing any three decks from three gods or providing the deck to be used. We have instead decided to put a monetary cap on the value of all three decks. Think of it like the salary cap used in some sports leagues in the US.

In order for you to have valid decks the total value of the three decks submitted can not exceed $30. We feel that this will allow any player to be able to enter. As well as works as a fun way to challenge your deckbuilding skills. This also means that you can put all the bells, whistles, and eggs in one deck, hoping it won't get banned, and let it carry you to victory. Or do you try and spread out your eggs, put some in each basket, or maybe only two baskets?

Of course, we know that the price of crypto will and can fluctuate and we will take that into account when we look at the decklists. But we also implore you to err on the side of caution rather than on the side of greed when crafting your decks. I and Zer0requiem will be putting on our Judge helmets and act both Judge, Jury, and executioner on all things relating to the tournament.

Prices, what about prices

Yes, there will be prices. We have been in talks with Gods Unchained and we are happy to announce that the tournament is as official as it can get. And part of their Community Clash. A fact we are very proud of.

And now to what we are able to provide our competitors.

This means that every participant in the tournament is guaranteed to get at least two rare packs. Meaning not only will you, hopefully, have a fun time playing a fun game. You will come away with a little something as well. Or maybe even a lot of something. =)
