My Weekend Ranked Battles #7

🇪🇸

Batalla 1, vs Strength Steal Deception:

My Weekend Ranked Battles #7

🇺🇸

Hello to all Gods Unchained players from Hive. I hope you had a Merry Christmas with your loved ones.

After a couple of weeks of inactivity, I returned to participate in the weekend ranked battles. This time, I dusted off my aggro light deck, which was reportedly performing well on the gudecks website. Although I didn't do too badly, I could have played much better.

Here are 3 interesting battles I had over the weekend.

Battle 1, vs Strength Steal Deception:

I had a good start hand, using Call of the Light and Empirean Pacifist in the first few turns. This allowed me to control the board with the help of Thaeric Extorsionist.

My opponent also had good board presence, in addition to generating damage to my character. The battle turned in his favor, but thanks to Prayer of Armor and Holy Enchanter, I was able to keep my Empirean Pacifist with good health, frontline and 1 point of armor.

The battle entered its final phase. My opponent began to summon his strongest creatures, while I relied on the sanctum to use a The Trial Begins and place Asterius, Glittering One in my hand.

I regained control of the board and made sure to keep at least 2 minions with frontline, so that my opponent must attack at least one, even when using his power. This last tactic assured me the victory, despite the powerful minion that my opponent controlled and his attempt to clean up with Rapture Dance.

Battle 2, vs Dragon War:

Again, I started by trying to dominate the board from the beginning, this time with the Vexing Vicar - Ritual Rod combo. Then, we populated the board as much as possible, supporting myself on my god power.

A Protective Benediction helped me maintain board control. My opponent passed the turn and I took advantage to steal a Radiant Dawn and make my minions even stronger. My opponent reacted and played a strong minion with frontline, but it wouldn't be enough to prevent his defeat.

Battle 3, vs Ramp Magic:

I started the battle with a pair of Dryder Sailweaver, which I knew would survive at least one turn thanks to their ward ability. I tried to use my god power every turn so that I would have enough cards in case the mage cleared the board with a spell.

Thanks to Holy Enchanted, I gave my minions a better chance of surviving a sudden spell, but they would have to deal with strong enemy minions. I tried to keep board presence, but the mage started using all of his removals. However, I managed to keep minions on the board every turn and continue to put pressure on a weakened mage.

My effort was not enough to eliminate the mage in time and, in a single turn, he did more than 25 points of damage and reduced my life to zero.

Hive Power Up Day - January 1st 2024

A Protective Benediction helped me maintain board control

Protective Benediction is usually my problem when I am using my Aggro Nature deck, it is a good card.

Yes, it is undoubtedly a very good card!
