Greetings people, welcome to part number 3 of learning about, this time we are going to analyze the card [Lara Grim, Spellthief] which has a very useful and interesting mechanic that allows you to change the course of the battle.
Copy spells
The mechanics of this card is to copy the spells cast, if you cast a spell the opponent will get a copy of the spell cast in his hand and if the opponent is the one who casts the spell the one who will get a copy of the spell will be you.
Backline and hidden
By having a backline and hidden makes it a difficult card to eliminate, the backline allows it to survive against aggressive gods and the hidden for 1 turn allows it to survive gods with direct damage from spells or ability.
Against god abilities such as nature, it is necessary to throw the card accompanied by another troop so that it is not easy to eliminate.
Target to be eliminated
Being a card that changes the course of battles, it is often the main target for the opponent using spells, which usually gives you a great mana advantage in the first turns or even gives you a strategic advantage on the board.
And if ignored can become a difficult card to control.
If it harms you, eliminate it
Do not forget that this card can be beneficial even for the opponent, in these cases the best option is to eliminate it before casting your spells, this way you make sure that your opponent does not get copies of the spells you are going to use.
If you have several spells in your hand, they should also be eliminated so that they do not hinder the progress of the battle.
Tips
- Its cost of 1 mana makes it an easy card to use and to eliminate at convenience, hindering the opponent's strategies.
- If it is removed by the spell cast it will not activate and you will not get a copy of that spell.
- Some transformation spells such as [Light's Levy] are copied after being used on [Lara Grim, Spellthief].
- Not recommended for use in control decks.
- Very useful against BWD and Dralamar decks.
