Today I want to share a bit about my performance in the last Weekend Rank in Gods Unchained. After a lot of effort (and a few painful defeats), I managed to secure 7 wins in the Twilight Shadow rank. This time, I practically played all the rounds, and maybe I lost a few due to issues with the mobile version. But that’s part of the game. So let’s talk about the strategies, the cards, and, of course, the challenges I faced.

đź“ť Reward Pack Openings

IMG_9593.png

I was really happy to receive 2 Rare Pack Core and 1 Epic Pack Core, each containing five cards.

It’s that magical moment when you click to open the packs, and you’re left wondering: will something amazing come out? Will it be a card that fits perfectly into my deck?

In total, the loot was:

  • 10 common cards
  • 3 rare cards
  • 2 epic cards

Most of them were focused on the Nature Deck, which isn’t bad, but it’s not exactly what I was expecting or accustomed to playing.

My main strategy this week was using my favorite Deception Deck, Hidden/Guild Rush, so I admit I was hoping for something more aligned with that style. But hey, you work with what you’ve got, and sometimes a card that seems dispensable ends up being a key piece at another time. Or it’s just a personal choice even though I received and acquired good cards for building a Nature Deck, I’ll try that later.

đź“ť Still Using Hidden Rush?

Yes, that’s where I felt most comfortable. The focus is simple for this composition: quick cards, direct damage, and forcing the opponent to think twice before spending mana to clear the board. The star of my deck was, without a doubt, the card Ronellan Streetslinker.

image.png

This beauty has 4 attack and 2 health, and comes with Hidden and Backline. It might seem fragile, but that’s precisely the idea. It’s what I call extreme pressure. Even if the enemy has direct damage spells, they need to work around the Hidden status or eliminate my front-line creatures to reach the Backline.

Wouldn’t it be perfect if it belonged to the Guild domination? I could easily add some interesting buffs to this combination.

đź“ť Flip or Hidden?

At times, I switched the Hidden God Power for Flip, and it was an interesting move.

Flip might seem like a risky choice, but when used at the right time, it can completely turn the game around. For example, against decks that try to stall the board by holding spells for quick board clears (hello, Magic Control), Flip helps rotate your hand to find quick answers. It’s not something I’d use all the time, but now I understand that in certain matches, it’s much better to prioritize it than to insist on Hidden.

And we still have issues with Carving War.

While I try to set up my board, they already have strong creatures causing havoc. It seems like everything I do isn’t enough. Against this type of deck, I realized my best chance is to be as aggressive as possible in the early turns, forcing favorable trades and hoping the opponent makes mistakes.

If there’s one thing I learned this Weekend Rank, it’s that there’s no perfect deck. Each strategy has its strengths and weaknesses, and it’s essential to adapt your game depending on the opponent. Occasionally switching to the Flip God Power was a pleasant surprise, and I’ll try to explore that more in the future. Additionally, it’s clear that I need to strengthen my arsenal against War decks. Maybe incorporating more cards with Ward or Frontline could be a solution.

Finally, I’ll focus on improving my Deception deck, especially with cards that can handle control situations better.

I really enjoy trying to diversify from META compositions or what everyone else is playing. It’s quite interesting to try something new.

In the end, the results were positive. I secured 7 wins, some good rewards, and, most importantly, I learned a lot. Gods Unchained continues to be that game that tests your patience and strategy equally. It’s amazing how each match can be unique and full of possibilities.

How about you? How was your performance in last week’s Weekend Rank?

Do you have any deck or strategy you’re testing and want to share? Leave a comment, and I’ll reply as soon as possible.

Hey, it takes courage to play HRD imo... ;)

You shouldn't really play GU on the phone, the client has lots of bugs that will make you lose games. Can't you use a computer?

If you're looking for a Guild replacement for the Streetslinker, the Shadow Paladin also has hidden, the exact same stats and mana cost. In HRD backline is not much of an issue, since the creatures would always be hidden anyways.

But you're already using 2x Shadow Paladins, so I would strongly recommend replacing the Streetslinker with Pietro, a super strong Legendary.

Also 2x Assassin's Aim and 2x Dark Knives are pretty much mandatory in this kind of deck. Stoneskin Poison is also great to get past frontlines, it's a card that will win you many games.

I can only play in my normal time outside of work, so I try whenever I can to play on my cell phone. But it has so many bugs that some of them make you lose the game as soon as you start.

I like Streetslinker when I have used Flip as God Power, I can quickly build up a hand with upgrade cards in a few turns.

Thanks for recommending Stoneskin Poison, I was always trying to remember its name to buy it, but ended up forgetting, LOL I thought it was a relic card and not a spell.

The point about replacing Streetslinker with Pietro is that this single substitution will make the deck a lot more effective.

Also if you're playing HRD it doesn't make sense to use Flip, you should always use Stealth...

Bzzt, congrats @ifhy! Boa performance no Weekend Ranked, 7 vitĂłrias no Twilight Shadow! Ronellan Streetslinker Ă© incrĂvel, a pressĂŁo extrema Ă© um truque legal! #hivebr

Congratulations on the canopy barrage pull.

Hi, I recommend "Pietro, Merry Bandit", it gives you board control and hides your creatures for the next attack, nice report my friend.đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť
