Weekend Ranked Recap #3

in Gods On Chain4 months ago (edited)

Hi All!

I really enjoy writing this small blog so I think I'll continue as I play my dailys anyway and I'm still up to date with the current meta. I'm hoping it helps you guys better understand how, when, and what to play.

Last week I released a https://gumeta.web.app/status page with all daily-hourly statistics. As you can see, if you're looking for the best chance to win as many games as possible during the weekend, the best time is Sunday. It looks like the majority of players are close to the UTC time zone (Europe?), so always remember to play close to "after" work/school time. ;)

Weekend Stats overview

War

  • Zoo War:
    • Highly popular and win rate fluctuates around 50%.
    • Recent performance suggests it struggles against Nature 33% WR uhhh.
    • Key card: Chieftain's Fury – effective across almost all archetypes.
  • Carvings:
    • Powerful archetype, capable of handling most opponents by turns 5.5 - 6.
    • Best counter-strategies:
      • Rush it down.
      • Build a durable, protected board to withstand Ulrika.

Nature

  • Control Nature:
    • Continues to be a dominant archetype, with answers to almost everything.
    • Counterd by applying fast pressure (up to turn 5.5 Bounty!)
  • Amazons:
    • Popular but struggles without a board presence.
    • Recent card additions improve their reach, enabling damage even without a full board.

Light

  • Heal Light:
    • Declining in popularity.
  • Zoo Light:
    • Maintains a steady 50% win rate.
    • Though less played, it remains viable in the current meta.

Death

  • Dragons:
    • Consistently strong but vulnerable to void hate and sustained Zoo pressure.
  • Zombies:
    • Quite ok vs combo/control without heal, with all dmg/suicide cards
  • Bitter Ending:
    • Reliable and has been effective for months.

Magic

  • Ramp:
    • It's ok on 50% WR, no significant changes in performance.
  • Atlanteans:
    • Still good but struggles vs Amazons

Deception

  • Zoo/Guild Deception:
    • Still viable with ~50% WR.
    • Aggro perform better overall.
  • Mayday Deck:
    • Less popular due to its difficulty to master but extremely effective in skilled hands, with win rates of 60% in Mythic.

The best summary of the week of that game.

Has the goal in Nature changed? I found this very low amount of Regeneration God Power strange.

Regeneration is forbidden art, It gives you +20 points of respect on win in eyes of every opponent. Some people even stop sheep you when you play foodchain. (I play it sometimes as it's auto selected after you do not select GP in time... )
