Hey guys!

The last Weekend Ranked Event was so much fun for me. 🙂

The reason is one card I got out of my packs from last weekend event:

Witherfingers: This card is powerful. So powerful that I decided to buy a 2nd card. This card is yor finisher or your comeback.

Witherfingers is like a modification of Demogorgon but just much cheaper and only for deception.

The three strongest creatures getting sleep and burn +2. Also Witherfingers is a Hidden 8/6-creature and very difficult to remove for your opponent.

You can imagine what will happen if you will play another Witherfingers the turn after...or Demogorgon...

You can imagine what will happen if you are able to include 2 Witherfingers AND 2 Demogorgon in your deck... 🙂

Sadly I don't have the budget to include 2 Demogorgon but I hope I can soon.

This is the Deck I played.** I won 17 of my 25 Matches.**

These Cards leaved my deck:

Mimicus, Orfeo, The Hollow, 2x Umber Arrow, Lady Marcella, 2x Bonded Unicorn.

Last weekend I was very unhappy with The Hollow because this card had no impact. Orfeo and Lady Marcella leaved because I decided to swap Deadly removal with Burn + Sleep/Order. Umber Arrow was nice to use one Deadly Rogue Skulker from your opponent. Bonded Unicorn is a nice card to protect a Satyr Hypnotist, but it's not that gamechanging.

These card are new in my Deck:

2x Stoneskin Poison, 2x Lightfoot Informant, 2x Sleep Dart, 2x Witherfingers

Your main goal is to survive 7 Mana. This is your time to win your match or to back into that match. Stoneskin Poison and Sleep Dart are removals to survive the early game. Lightfoot Informant got a comeback after a long time to generate more removals or other tasty spells (from Light for example).

And if you paid attention in the last 5 minutes you know why I included 2 Witherfingers. 😁

These are my Results against the other gods:

Light 6/1 (28%)
War 6/1 (28%)
Nature 2/3 (20%)
Magic 2/2 (16%)
Deception 1/0 (4%)
Death 0/1 (4%)

This deck performed very good against Light (maybe the best god right now) and War. Nature and Magic were 50/50 but not hopeless.
Deception and Death was only one match so its hard to rate if this deck is good performing against these gods.

I think that I will not change my deck for the next weekend because I felt so comfortable.

What do you think about this deck? 🙂

Greetings

Sort:

I think that Satyr Hypnotist is better suited for a more aggressive deck that can use the sleep effect better in the early game.

I'm using Satyr Hypnotist usually with a Frontline creature. When I'm playing against War (or also Nature) I try to get PW and Satyr in Mulligan and other low cost removals or creatures. My early goal is to kill everything and just leave one creature so my opponent is not able to attack.

What card would you put into this deck instead?

I'm not sure since your deck wants to get to 7 mana whereas my deck wants to rush them down. I ran The Hollow and Orfeo and had success with them. Cutthroat might be good against the control decks since you're less aggressive.

I need a break from The Hollow because it was less effective for me. If I will build a faster Guild Deck this card would be an option again.

Orfeo as one removal and one Cutthroat to see my opponents hand (and of course to play his best card myself) could be interesting replaces.

I think that I should try this. Thank you!

2 Witherfingers - Congratulations!

Awesome deck!

There are many sleep cards to experiment. Obsidian Dagger? You have no relic. Satyr makes a random creature to sleep. Obsidian Dagger costs 1 mana more and you have to wait one more turn but, this time, you choose who is going to sleep. Hard to defend a Satyr especially playing a control deck. A relic is harder to remove for the opponent.

Also, you spend no mana after you install Obsidian Dagger so you can even experiment with Thalia in this case... But this is just a theory :)

Hey! :)

You're right, Obsidian Dagger is a good idea and another way to let my opponents sleep. Satyr Hypnotist usually is not surviving 3-4 turns. I just have to be sure that I'll get the Relic removals from sanctum before my opponent.

Thalia is very interesting since the change but I don't have the feeling that I can fit her very well. Maybe with Obsidian Dagger I'll have a better timing to use Thalia. Also "Nightmare" or "Darkdream Hex" would be options as more or other removals. I think that I should try it. :)

Witherfingers is definitely an annoying creature when it is played, but IMO its feature set is quite different from Demo. Demo's biggest strength is its heal that helps to stabilize against a Midrange opponent closing the game out (to reach 8/9 mana), but Witherfingers feels more like the type of card that tries to finish the game in the next turn for better or for worse. Still a strong card nevertheless.

You're right. If Witherfingers would also heal yourself everybody would play Deception :D

I wanted to point out that these cards are comparable with their Roar: Both let your opponents sleep. Witherfingers just up to 3 creatures but this creatures will get Burn, a different way to damage creatures. Demo will damage one creature directly. If I would ask you what creature is an alternative to Demogorgon the answer would be Witherfingers.

But both cards have also a nice synergy together. I hope that I can get a 2nd Demo soon. 😉
