Daily Play is almost here.
Are you guys prepared and ready for it?
I didn't realized how much welcome and core sets were important until shiny cards become relevant.
Back in March, when Daily Play was first announced, I wasn't, neither prepared or ready for it, and, between several reasons, I decided to take a day to mint everything I could (oh boy, was such a bad decision 😅).
I minted 300+ core cards in a 24h period and spent most of my flux and all 60 GODS I had saved/earned since I started playing GU in December.
But that wasn't enough, I was missing a lot of playsets and worst of all I was missing a lot of meteorite welcome cards. Looking back, the delay wasn't that bad, I probably would have to compromise a lot more cards to play with full shiny decks.
[Evil moment 😈] Now we know, "Coming Soon" means 6 months in GU time. 😆
6 months in, I feel I am prepared, bought a lot of cards, forged more, got myself almost all welcome cards and been buying up to 4 core common plains I was missing from the star store.
Still I am not feeling ready.
While building decks for each god, I noticed I will have to sacrifice some cards in order to have full shiny decks and need to mint a lot of cards to make my decks as shiny as they can be.
I disregarded completely how much epic core cards were important, and now I am paying for it.
I am missing a few key plain epic core cards to mint meteorite versions. Like,
Wildfire
Hunting trap
Whiterfingers
Metamorphisis
Faithbreaker
So my plan for this week and the next is grind the most I can, not care at all for which rank I end up this WR and get some more epic packs, hopefully will get some of the above.
In any case, after reviewing my collection I feel I am prepared to play most of the core cards if I need to and I am 6 cards away to complete my core set collection.
I am missing only
4 legendaries
And 2 Epics
But, I do have this one ready to go, so I am golden 😁
So I am definitely prepared, what about you?
Glad to see you've been preparing! I'm a little disappointed in the released p2e rule set, but on the bright side, it means you only need one deck of shines for max earning. That means you don't absolutely have to have wildfire and hunting trap at meteorite.
My plan is to play my best/shiniest deck for the first three wins. Then I may toss in some other decks if I've built up some MMR cushion in Mythic.
I still need to do some quick math, I probably will not care during the first week or two, to understand what makes more sense and if I should invest GODS in minting cards or not.
Maybe a meteorite deck will be good enough.
I need to understand the ROI of minting cards to increase the deck points and how much that will translate in rewards. I probably will try to use a full meteorite deck in the first days to get some kind of baseline and then add some shadows to it, maybe golds (don't have many of those) to see how it differs
