Building my very first Meteorite+ deck in GU

in Gods On Chain11 months ago

Hello everyone,

I found the Gods On Chain community over the weekend, and it makes me feel a little stupid. I started playing this game at the end of summer, previously I searched for (and found) information about the game on Hive several times, but it didn't even occur to me that there could be a community for the game.

From now on, I will post my weekly Gods Unchained post here.

At the moment, I only play free play-2-earn games, or rather I have only written about them here so far. So I didn't spend on Gods Unchained at the beginning either. Over the weekend, I got to the point where I had enough GODS to be able to buy and play exclusively with NFT cards. The first experiences of this follow.

Since I started using Nature god at the very beginning, I have stayed with it until today. However, I see that moving up from the current Shadow (7-8) rank is probably not the best choice.

That being said, I built the first full Meteorite+ deck out of these cards. That's not entirely true today, as I still have 1 Plain card left in my deck. I'm out of GODS and costs 5 GODS what's still missing, hopefully it will be there in a few days.

Some cards I bought this weekend:

I bought Gold from one of my favorite 1 mana cost cards as I thought I needed some to further improve the Deck Modifier.

I would insert here how the rewards improve thanks to the higher quality cards. It will come in handy if someone asks about it later.

In practice, this is not yet completely clear to me. Since I still have 1 Plain card, I thought the improvement would be smaller because of this. In contrast, there has been quite a jump in fragments since Sunday.

As I wrote before, I usually go back and forth between Twilight and Midnight Shadow.

My win rate with this deck is similar to the previous one.

However, if I take its value into account, this result is much more acceptable. Results of the last 5 battles:

The only Plain card I still use:

I also tried GUListCreator with this image. It is very simple and works well, I will definitely use it regularly in the future!

Since there is only 1 card missing, I thought it would be worth calculating the Deck Modifier based on the above.

My Deck Composition: - Diamond, 2 Gold, 6 Shadow, 22 Meteorite

Deck Value: 0 x 125 + 2 x 25 +6 x 5 + 22 x 1 = 102

Normalised Deck Value: 102 / 3750 = 0.027

Deck Modifier: 0.027 x (1-0.15) + 0.15 = 0.17295

Deck Modifier: 17.295%

The Gameplay Modifier was clear before, I just didn't know how it was calculated. It largely depends on my rank.

My rank: 8 (Midnight Shadow)

Gameplay Modifier: 0.405 + 0.08 = 0.485

On Sunday, I managed to win the first 3 battles with the new deck, so this is the best comparison base for me at the moment. This number increased from the previous 33.2 fragments to 38.5867

The 17.295% Deck Modifier gives almost this amount, so it's possible that I still get the 15% quality bonus despite the 1 Plain card.

However, the additional bonus received after winning the second and third battles is a big question for me. Is it possible that this is after the win streak? If anyone reading this and knows the answer, please share it with me. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an acceptable explanation for this anywhere.

This was the biggest news for me this week, not playing battles.

By the way, it's good to see that videos of battles are also uploaded to the community. Hopefully soon, they will be a great help in creating my next, more competitive deck.

See you in the next one! Have a nice day!

Congratulations on your Meteorite. Having an all-meteorite will make your rewards higher. Again, congratulations! Good luck and have fun.

I'm glad you found us! Look forward to hearing about your progression in the game! Lightning strike is an amazing card, you'll be using it even at the highest ranks. Marsh Walkers, Wild Hogs, Axewomen, and Black Jags are great, too.

One thing to know about this game: the mulligan system rewards running 2x of 15 cards rather than 30 singles. That's because when you toss a card back, you will never see it's copy. That means running doubles makes your opening hand more consistent to find the low mana cost cards you want.

That's not a strict rule, but top decks usually try to have at least 7-10 cards that are 2x.

Hello,

Better late than never. I have very basic knowledge about Hive. Probably should spend more time to discover it, getting know better. (I originally wanted to register for Actifit in the summer, but even after hours I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working as it should... hence my username. 😀)

Thanks for the advice! I tried that, at the very beginning, but I could reach only rank 6-7 in that way. Probably that was because of my bad card selection, so I went to the more diversed direction.

Anyway, I see what you are saying. Since couple of weeks, I regularly check my opponents' deck. Most of the players who win fast against me use 2 copies of many cards.

For the next deck, I want to go towards using Armors. I will definitely use 2 copies of more of them. However, those cards are quite expensive, it won't happen tomorrow.

May I ask what or who is responsible for the many votes I received so quickly? I've already experienced that most of the time I don't get any, but when I do, almost always 10+ people vote for my post.

Whoever it was, thank you! Pleasant surprise! However, I don't understand how this works. Is it thanks to the community, does one person vote with many followers or is it always a coincidence, or is it something else I didn't even think about?

Yours truly. I work with the OCD team to curate posts. If you pump out posts every day, don't expect them all to get big rewards, but a good post once or twice a week probably will!

Trying to encourage activity and build a community here for GU players.

Thanks,

Yes, I already read about it, recognized, not good to post too much, especially, if it's 'empty' post. That part I understand.

My question was more about the number of upvotes (not amount). Does it mean you sent all the 60+ upvotes? or 'just' the couple of OCD ones?

I am just asking because I read about that, if I receive more votes, my post become more visible to others, so potentially, i can receive more votes, but I really don't understand how it works. Are there certain number of upvotes what a post have to reach to be more visible, or trending. Maybe it's about the amount?

In case you know any post what exactly details how it really works, I would really appreciate, if you could share it with me. I couldn't find specifics about it, only the same general info in several different places.

Sorry to bother you with basics.

Thank you!

No worries! And don't worry. The more you post the better! I'd love to see a more active community. Just because you might not get 10 hive for your 4th post in a week doesn't mean you shouldn't post it!

So when OCD curates you, a bunch of people follow that account and auto upvote anyone OCD does. So that's why all their upvotes come in.
