My Mill Deception Gameplay Video and Updated Deck. Mill Deception Category Has Appeared on Gudecks

Three days ago, my Mill Deception deck with only 8 creatures and 20 spells was called Aggro Deception on Gudecks.Com. it was a disappointing omission that made impossible to look at what other people do in the same direction. But at last, I see they added all the new archetypes there, including Mill Deception.

If you look at the last day stats for all ranks, you'll see that:

And that gives hope. These are popular cards of this archetype on gudecks:

I already posted about my Mill Deception experiments in last two posts.

Let me share my recent updates in this post:

But first shortly how to play:

  • make as much damage as possible with the first Cobra Scepter + Surprise Delivery + all available creatures;
  • use the 5-mana "Great wall" of spells to freeze the opponent;
  • overfill the opponent's hand to make them lose cards;

Winning Food Chain Nature with Mill Deception

  • try to find a moment to cast Forge New Bonds in order to diminish the mana cost of Resurgent Sirens and then
  • finish the opponent with Resurgent Sirens + Cobra Scepter with returning Resurgent Sirens 2-3 times if needed. The less cards left in your deck, the more you have returning spells left, the more the chance you will be able to implement the summon-return-summon scenario.

Last Updates

Stormshroud always looked tempting to me but I played aggro Deception mostly and I couldn't see how to use it in my decks.

But within Mill Deception, it's a very interesting card. Manasurge 6 is easy - look how many 5-mana spells in the deck + 1-mana cards. Stormshroud works almost the same way as "make them sleep all" but it is also another way to Resurgent Sirens if you can't return it to your hand.

The Dearly Departed; I mentioned it as an interesting choice for the deck in one of my older posts. I recently decided to have one because I found a serious vulnerability of such Mill Deception deck - they can summon The Dearly Departed twice and steal both your Resurgent Sirens (Nature with Shines On Us All or Deception with returning spells, for example). I decided to have one The Dearly Departed to prevent this scenario and, which is not less important, to steal relic removers of the opponent. You can return The Dearly Departed with Walk the Plank or Nightcap, for example, and the opponent will never have their creature again.

Winning Casion Death with Mill Deception

I have spent A LOT of time for these tests in Midnight Shadow and Auric. You need twice more time at least to play the deck compared to aggro Deception. So, I am slowing down with the experiments to wait and see what other people have discovered. I also think that this deck can work better in higher ranks with less aggro decks. I'll consider playing in on the next WR; before that, I'll have an fast and shiny aggro Deception deck to earn GODS and climb ranks.
