Hello everyone,
After covering 3 popular playstyles of 5 different gods in my previous posts, this is the last post of this series where we have the god of light remaining!
It is not often that you see light players out there especially since light is falling a bit behind the meta at the moment for several reasons two of them being:
1- Most effective light decks in high ranks have several cards that are a bit costly and can greatly affect the deck if removed.
2- The lack of clearance of the board if you fall behind which makes it so tough to come back and this is something that affects the outcome of the game greatly.
However, if you get good control of the board early, light is so amazing and also it is so fun so I hope they bring more balance changes to it in the near future!
So without further ado, let's jump into the playstyles!
First Playstyle
Zoo Light
Among all playstyles that I will be mentioning, this is the most basic and cheapest playstyle to do.
Just like any other zoo decks, this playstyle is all about flooding and controlling the board with your creatures, and in case of light you can support them with your buff spells or vacuum spells like Light's Levy and keep increasing your board control until you finish the game.
It is not difficult to perfect this one, and it is very simple and free to play! Such type of playstyle should work in ranks like solar gold and maybe in ethereal diamond.
Example Deck
So as we can see, a very basic decks with a lot of creatures to flood and control the board and some spells to support them. This deck was taken from GUDecks.
Important Cards
Light's Levy and Devoted Follower
Light's Levy is so important so vacuum and take early game control and Devoted follower can help get rid of strong creature with the least sacrifice possible.
Second Playstyle
HP Buff Light
This one is very similar to the Zoo playstyle, however this one have a bit more spells and HP buffing abilities for your creatures which works in sink.
In this playstyle, your goal is also to control and dominate the board early game and buff your creatures insanely. You have to try and keep chipping away your opponents creatures as much as possible early game.
This way your won't let him flood his board and at the same time with the big HP buffs and healing, you will still have your creatures to buff even more!
I have been playing this playstyle for a while now in mythic and it has been going pretty decent I'd say.
Example Deck
This is the deck that I have been using and as you can see, pretty simple with a lot of HP buffing potential!
Important Cards
Light's Levi, Chalice Priest, Blind Martyr and Radiant Dawn
Again Light's Levy prefect for vacuuming and taking control early game.
Chalice Priest: His ability is so amazing especially since you have a buffing deck. So imagine enemy creatures with only 2 strength while you have a lot of HP your creatures will be unkillable!
Blind Martyr and Radiant Dawn amazing cards for buffing your creatures and the sleep removal is so crucial especially since it is highly used in high ranks.
Third Playstyle
Order Light
This is one of the most advanced playstyle of light. As the name suggest, this playstyle is all about using your insane order potential in your deck, to control the tempo of the game and have board control over your opponent.
Light have a lot of cards that have order and this playstyle is based off of them. So you will have plenty of orders to help you control the game however you want and finish your opponent who will be having nothing but ordered creatures.
Example Deck
This deck was created and posted by @copperpitch in his last post check it out he does amazing work and he also made a cheaper version of it!
So naturally, a lot of order cards and spells to freeze your opponent!
Important Cards
Watchful Hound, Sern, The Moderator and Helios Justicar
With the fairly low price of all these 3 cards and the order they provide for this deck makes them so valuable and important!
Conclusion
Even though light decks are not seen widely nowadays, there are some way you can tweek and regulate a deck to a=make it a bit effective.
Although just like any other god, Light have some playstyle that are very weird compared to other and I always advise each and every player to try to use every god.
First of all it is much more fun to vary from time to time and second you can discover some type of decks that are very weird and can make the game have a different taste!
Of course you do not have to use them in weekend rank if you feel they are not going to perform well, however there are 4 other days you can do whatever you want in them!
That was it for this post hope you like it and now that all gods have been covered I will be testing the remaining playstyles that I have not yet and see how they perform and share the result so stay tuned!
If you like this post or it helped you in any way make sure to drop a follow I would appreciate it a lot and have a good one all!
