Hello GU Community!
Sweating and vomiting spaghetti about what to play for this Ranked Weekend? Let TheProfesserf keep you calm and ready. For the last two weekend events, I've been running a version of @fakemews Nature list. Yes, we all know how talented, amazing, skilled, and loveable FakeMews is, but did you know he puts together some great decks? Check out his HIVE posts and YouTube channel, if not! (This ramble was in honor of FakeMews).
Back on topic - for the first weekend, I piloted this Nature list to 23 wins, good enough for 10th place. The following weekend, I managed 20 out of 25. Without further ado, here is the deck guide. Enjoy!
In the deck guide, I present 4 different variations of this Nature list. You don't like making a choice? Fine.
Confused? (pun intended) I recommend going with the Hunt list. GU_1_5_GAwIDNIDNCAuCAuCATCATCCOCCOCAvCAvIASBEXBEXBCCBCCIDKIDKCBxCBxGAbBHDIDMIDMICHICHGAnIDFIDFCDf
Feeling spicy? Go with the Sudden Bloom list. GU_1_5_GAwIDNIDNCAuCAuCATCATCCOCCOCAvCAvIASBEXBEXBCCBCCIDKIDKCBxCBxGAbBHDIDMIDMICHICHGAnIDFIDFIAR
On a budget? Go with the Budget version. GU_1_5_IDNIDNCAuCAuCATCATCCOCCOCAvCAvIASICOICOCBhCBhIDKIDKCBxCBxCArCArIDMIDMICHICHGAnCAxIDFIDFCDf
FakeMews die hard? Go with the Watchtower list. GU_1_5_GAwIDNIDNCAuCAuCATCATCCOCCOCAvCAvIASBEXBEXBCCBCCIDKIDKCBxCBxGAbBHDIDMIDMICHICHGAnIDFIDFIDX
No matter how you slice and dice it, you now have options for your Weekend Ranked. This list features the strong Nature cards we love to see: Marsh Walker, Canopy Barrage, Faeflame Blade, Underbrush Boar, Avatar of Nature, Brazen Moose, and Giant Pangolin. As an added bonus, this deck plays fast enough that you don't have to spend 5+ hours on your 25 games; time to touch grass! 😆

I always enjoy watching games from good players, as I learn a lot. In particular, your willingness to trade stags. I think I try too hard to keep them on the board for more random cards when I should just make trade.
In game 2, though, I would have definitely used Canopy Barrage on that hidden Dockside Prowler (even not expecting the Arsenal). So many blitz creatures he would definitely be able to kill Finnian. Wondering if you think that was a miss play, or if you could expand your reasoning for that line. Thanks!
Game 2, versus aggro war, I expect plenty of creatures that are more threatening than the 1 mana 2/2. The line of thinking was saving my 2 mana removal instead of using it on his 1 mana card; not a favorable trade in my opinion.
Also, if he took turn 2 to answer Finnian, with blitz or otherwise, Finnian was able to generate an apple for value the previous turn, and I had the Faeflame equipped to follow up and clear off. In other words, Finnian already did his job and I don't get too attached trying to ensure he survives for more than one turn.
Thanks. This is exactly my problem: getting too attached. I'll work on that. I'm happy to report that I am trading in stags like nobody's business this weekend. If they get me an extra card, excellent, but if they can trade well then they're gone. Just need to apply this same logic to finnian.
It's a fine balance. Also be aware of over-trading vs applying face pressure.
Thanks for the video, very timely! Appreciate the content, professor.
You are welcome, appreciate you taking the time to watch the content and comment!
This deck is looking nice! I unpacked some of these DO cards so I guess I have to give it a try now? hahah
It would be great if you could share the deck codes with us, TheProfesserf. Keep the great content coming!
Definitely give it a try!
Good point about the deck codes, I have it in the video, but not in the article. Will try to edit the codes in. Thank you.
