Hi hivians, happy weekend hope your weekend is going well.
Okay today I want to share what I did today.
We all know how busy weekends can be to some it is a relaxing day to others it is a very busy weekend. unfortunately I think I fall among those that their weekend is busy so today I decided to make a new simple dress for myself this I will use tomorrow and go for a burial ceremony.
The dress is simple but it need calculation on how many yards of material to use but since it is something I do often and I'm use to it. All I needed was my time and concentration so as you will see from the pictures below 👇
This dress is called kaftan or bubu gown with V-neck. Funny enough burnt orange is my favourite colour so immediately I saw the Ankara material I was already in love with the colour because I know I will combine it with a Plain orange to give the desire style I need.
Let go into the main business. Down 👇 is the Ankara material I used 2 yard of it
Then it is fold into four place on the floor I'm using the floor because I do not have a cutting table so all my cutting I cut it on the floor this is not easy at all but I do not have a choice till am able to get myself a table. So after folding it into four the next thing I need was to marked all my measurements. This particular style do not need too much measurements because it is a free gown
So the only measurement needed was
My neck circumference
My shoulder to hip measurement
My gown length measurement
And since the cloth is cut with the sleeve so the
Sleeve length was taken too.
Here the material fold into four part
After putting down all the necessary measurement. The next thing was to cut it👇
Imputing my measurements
The shape is coming out
The cutting process to have the desire shape
The shape has come out
Ahead to the machine to join the back and the front shoulder together, turn round the neck with the plain orange material then join the two side and the dress is ready to wear .
This is the front side you can see the v-neck coming out
I will now bring the back side and arrange and then go the machine to join the shoulder together
That is me joining the shoulder, the neck and the two side.
This is my work today hope my work is fine your comments will encourage me more thank you and have a beautiful weekend.
The final look. This is my work today how do you see my lovely people thank you for your encouraging words
