Does recommendation really matter in marriage? I'm a young man who is growing every day to like marriage and to marry right. The day before yesterday, we had a deep conversation with my group of ladies about marriage. One of them said marriage is an opportunity. I came into this scene and said that if you said marriage is an opportunity, it therefore means any man that comes your way, you will say yes, not considering other factors about him.
I didn't support this, instead I said, marriage is a choice. You can choose to marry and not marry. Before you make this choice and settle with it, both of you must have come to terms with understanding and friendship. You don't just venture into it, if care is not taken, you can make a mistake that will either make or mar you in that marriage. So coming to marriage, we need to be extremely careful and ask questions about it.

It is not like a course in school that you can change to change to another or drop out.

In marriage there is no drop out or changing of husband and wife. It's forever journey, that's why we need to careful in our choice. Choose your friend, marry your friend and the marriage will be successful.

However, I have seen plenty of people who have recommended their friends to their friends for marriage, but most of this recommendation doesn't work, it will only last by proxy which is not proper. Someone like me, I wouldn't want a friend of mine to recommend a wife for me. It's not part of my plan. Let me see my wife, follow her, let me know what I like in her. Her beauty lies in her character. This is the most beautiful part of a woman, her character and many other virtues that will make this journey successful.

Thank you.
