There is an adage that goes by the saying “Health is wealth” and this is something that is so true to this date. It underlines one of the basic facts of life that the absence of health reduces all other values in life. Correct, health in general is not only desirable for longevity and quality of life, but for functionality in every day life and in every facet of life.

However, as described above, when considering health, this is in the aspects of both the body and the mind. Physical wellbeing is majorly associated with the state of our health, our physical fitness, and our capacity to work and carry out our routine activities without suffering from illnesses. Epilepsy includes practices such as taking balanced and healthy diet, engaging in regular exercises, refraining from practices such as smoking and taking a lot of alcohol. Another form of health is mental health, which is associated with the well-being of an individual’s emotions and mind. Stress management, challenge management, and positive interacting with other people are included in this category.

Health, for this reason, is deemed fit to be coined as wealth due to the fact that it constitutes the core component of everyone’s life. It is therefore apparent that without good health, an individual cannot work, get paid, and in the process chase their dreams and ideals. The health complications thus cause chronic diseases, disabilities, and eventual deaths, all of which affect the quality of life. On the other hand, positive health enhances one’s functionality in that they can perform activities that may make them happy or fulfilled in life.

health is an inseparable part of human life that should be preserved and defended through the provision of time, energy, and money. Like the money that needs to be invested, so does the health require investment in the form of exercising and building up ourselves for the future. This is about adopting healthy choices of the body for instance taking balanced meals, undertaking necessary exercises and probably going for a doctor in cases that require one. It also includes taking up things that are good for the brain, like doing meditation, going for counseling, and creating quality social networks.

The current society is practically confined to the workplace and any other productive ventures hence making health a preserve of a lesser priority. It may sometimes be easier to self-sacrifice one’s career, relationship or social life, and justify it with having to go through the same day endured by millions of people around the world, ending up in burnout, exhaustion, and various physical and mental disorder. But the popular quote that says “Health is wealth” cannot be truer, and we cannot realize the other portions of wealth if we are unhealthy.

Thus, in the recent years, health has been given much attention especially with the emergence of COVID-19. The circumstances of the Covid-19 outbreak have definitely drawn public attention to the weakness of human health and the harm that viral diseases can bring into people’s lives. It has pushed us to reconsider our priorities and act upon those things that will maintain our health and safety. Moving forward in this pandemic struggle, there is a need to make a change on how we can protect ourselves and our families.
Thus, it can be concluded that health is the most valuable wealth because all the aspects of life are built around this factor. As people, good health makes us go for whatever we want and achieve it in fulgent; it makes one lead an active lifestyle. It proves to be resource-consuming to keep up; however, the benefits are clear and rather rewarding. Thus, it is crucial that we stay healthy and remember the value of a healthy body in the midst of coping with the conflicts of the contemporary world. Nevertheless, as many people have said “Health is wealth".
