Greetings to my esteemed friends on the Cent platform and the entire Hive blockchain. It's another day and time to share with you games we played as kids that enhanced our moto skills. It's your friend @faquan saying hello from this part of the world.
One of the gifts of nature is the ability of kids looking out for games within them that is entertaining and educative. Although, these recreational times are gradually fading in our society due to urbanization.
Urbanization has pushed the migration of people from the rural areas to the city and this has made recreational centers to be converted into residential building. Most of the spaces that were reserved for community sports such as community playgrounds are no longer available for kids within the community to come together to play and in turn relate with each other.
Being creative is one of those experiences we had as kids because we must develop games that'll help us come together and bring out the best in us.
Artificial Football Games
Apart from playing and loving to play football as kids in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, we also created artificial football games that brought us together as kids. It was a game played by two people (representing two teams) just like the regular football.
Sometimes we convert this process to a big competition that was played amongst 5 to 10 people and it was very interesting. From the group stage to the knockout stage and then the finals.
Items used to prepare the games
- paper or carton for the goal posts
- crown cocks for the player
- a gum that represents the ball
- chalk used in drawing the football pitch or cardboard paper and maker
- water gum, meter rule and scissors
Although different people with their different skills in making the football games but the system of playing it was the same.
Motor Skills Learned
- coordination: the game helps children to know how to coordinate themselves. It reduces stress
- Problem solving: during the game, the kids are meant to think of the right strategies to use in playing and winning the game.
- Imagination: we don't rush in playing we imagine and learn how to direct our shots.

That's great! I like the way you use batteries for goalkeepers!
I grew up in the UK and loved playing Subbuteo. I played mostly alone, and ran a World Cup (Poland won!), F. A. Cup (Derby County beat Leeds United in the final), and a Village League featuring all the villages in my area.

I just found this video about various types of table-top football game that were around back in the day:

That's super cool, we had less tech while growing up so we improvised to get real time fun. Ours was that we were at liberty to play with friends within our community. Thanks for stopping by
