Most people live and operate their lives without vision and this has affected their functionality and productivity. Before we look into the benefits of a visionary life, let's talk about what vision really is.
What's Vision?
A vision is a mental image of a possible and desirable future state of the organization. A vision describes aspirations for the future – a destination for the organization. We can say that a vision is a dream – a distant, long-term dream.Source
Looking at the above, one will see that vision, gives you a mental picture of the future or a desired destination. If this is true then one needs to know the importance of having vision.
Vision on its own reposition the mind of the visioner and gives him or her right path to follow in achieving difficult tasks in life.
A person operating without vision is at the mercy of chance and could only survive life by other people's decision.
Remember that having vision about the future doesn't mean that you'll become successful in life. There things that must be done for one to attain a successful life.
Vision without strategies is like building a house without foundation. Strategies here simply means ways in which a person intends to achieve what he's lay down in the vision.
Periodical strategies are needed in carrying out of desired goal, so it's imperative to outline those strategies alongside the vision or goal.

- a clearer future
A vision is also a goal. A destination you set forth in you mind. Somehow by magic many people achieve their goals!
