Hi friends, it's been a while. Let's get on and spread the love together. Here is a story would surely challenge your life of giving.
There is a story of a lady who met a poor old egg vendor and queried for the price. The old vendor replied "50 Cents each.” The lady bargained to buy 6 eggs for $2.50, That is 50 Cents discount from the vendor's rate.
The vendor agreed to sell the eggs at that rate at least because he had not sold anything for the day. This was hi first sale and he didn't want to miss it at least to have money for his meal. The lady bought the eggs at that bargained price and left with the feeling that she had won.
She got into her car joined her friend at a luxury restaurant where they ordered what they wanted, ate a little and left a huge part of the snacks they bought. Their bill was $150, but then, the lady gave $200 to the restaurant owner and asked him to keep the change as a tip.
Remember, she did bargained out $0.5 from the egg vendor's pay but gave out $50 the luxury restaurant owner. Think of it, the luxury restaurant owner is better placed and perhaps has a comfortable life, but the egg vendor just needs some Cents to feed and live.
Now, here's a question:
𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙮? 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆?
While we try to unravel the above story and question, there is also the story of a man who usually bought goods from poor people at high prices, even though he didn't need the things. Sometimes, he would pay more than the named price. In one of their trips, his son asked him "Why are you doing this Dad?" Here was the man's reply: "It's charity wrapped in dignity, son."
now let's answer the question, Why do we show generosity to the rich than the poor who really have need for it?
