Happy Convocation To Me!

in Cent3 months ago

Greetings, everyone.

Come closer and open this book of my testament. In this book, you will see the history of my dearest self, how it started, and how it ended.

Let me start with my family background. My paternal and maternal family background, especially my paternal family, doesn't have a legacy of a strong educational system. None of my father's siblings had finished elementary school, not that they didn't have the support. They had people who wanted to sponsor them, but within them, there was no zeal; they were doing well in their businesses. This was the kind of family background I was raised but I wasn't influenced nor followed their steps because of exposure. Growing up to see them, I respected my Dad and my uncle. In my maternal family, my first Aunt is a nurse, and she went to nursing school and she is doing well in her profession as a nurse. My mum didn't finish secondary school, and the rest of my aunts and uncles went to college and polytechnic. By God's Grace, all of them are doing well in their areas of business.

All my cousins, including my siblings, have finished their nursery and secondary schools, and many are into business, they are doing well, too; at least, they are more exposed than in my father's days. Many of my cousins are technically inclined, they can relate well to the present world.

However, this was the background I was raised. During my senior secondary school as SSS 1, I was chosen by my pastor's wife to live with her. This woman was a university Hall superintendent, and supervising the university students in the hostel was her work. I stayed with them and wrote my WASCE and she helped me to further into the university. This was how I made it into the university by this woman who is now late. So unfortunate, she didn't witness my convocation ceremony. I thank God for everything.

This is me today, breaking out of the shell, becoming the covenant breaker in the family of no B.SC in the university. My years in the university, from year 1 to the final were filled with stress, physical, spiritual, and other challenges. I faced a challenge in my year 1, the second semester, that almost took my life, but amid chaos, God stood in the gap and intervened for me. They couldn't succeed because my God was by my side. Despite all the hurdles and strives, I finished strong and healthy. I was so happy that I came to the end of the tunnel with success.

Yesterday was my convocation, I was so happy, and my people were happy too; they came around to celebrate with me, and I was celebrated. The first king and priest to be celebrated in the family by holding a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Nigerian languages.

This is me telling God to thank you for all the things he has done to preserve my life all the years of study at the University of Uyo, in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

My special thanks go to my biological parents, spiritual father, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones. Thank you and God bless you for the support you rendered.
