I am thinking of writing my crypto goals for 2025. However, as I retrieve my posts since September 2021, I observed a huge discrepancy in terms of forecast and future expectations.
Anyhow, as humans, we cannot escape our limitations when it comes to time. Looking back, it appears that I was too optimistic when I entered the crypto space. I could cite many examples to illustrate the gap. Of course, all of them are related to expectations and the market price of Splinterlands cards and the tokens on my watch list.
Imagine a Mitika Headhunter was priced $6.80 in September 2022 and just $0.38 now. I thought I was buying a bargain then. Now that the price of this card dropped 94.41% of its value, how come I lost the zeal to buy more? The same thing applies to other tokens.
When I wrote my Crypto Goals for 2022, this article inspired me. The blogger mentioned several names, and I added four of them to my watch list: LEO, HIVE, AVA, and ORN.
At that time, I didn't know anything about LEO. His price forecast for LEO was $10; for HIVE = $3; for AVA = $10; and for ORN = $20. We know what happened afterward.
Moreover, as for my Splinterlands account, at that time, I was holding 1,020 Splintershards (SPS) and I only had 7,730 Collection Power (CP). The value of my cards was $359.36. Three years later, my SPS grew to 15,000 plus, but I sold 3,000 of them. My CP exceeded the 100,000 goal I set up that year. I now have 295,545. As for the value of my cards, I don't know. I lost my access to their Discord channel.
Furthermore, I held 28 HIVE (both liquid and staked) at that time and targeted 300 as my year-end goal. Now, I own 8,298 HIVE Power (HP).
Below is the table that shows my progress after three years and my Hive goals for 2025.

My focus for next year is to grow my HIVE Power (HP). As for SPS, I think I will settle with 12,000. Whatever SPS I will earn for 2025, I intend to use them to upgrade my cards and boost my HP. Increasing my CP is unavoidable, for such an increase is built into the mechanics of the game. Both the Gladius cards and the Rebellion rewards will help me achieve that 1M goal. LEO and CENT remain the top two Hive Engine tokens in my wallet. Instead of this account, I will help my youngest son's account to grow his LEO stakes. As for CENT, I intend to delegate 100,000 CENT to my wife and to my two sons, plus the 100,000 in this account.
How about my trading goals on MEXC? So far, I am keeping a watchlist of 12 tokens in the mentioned crypto exchange. These are MAJOR, SPS, X, TON, GMEE, GALA, HMSTR, DOGS, RBTC1, WAT, DOMO, and HIVE. The list can grow. However, for now, I will just maintain these 12 names. Though HIVE is included, my strategy is different. Instead of quick trades, I am more of a mid-term position trader when it comes to HIVE. That would mean I am willing to sit and hold the token for weeks and months before exiting from my position. Unlike others that could disappear anytime, HIVE is a different breed that requires a distinct trading strategy.

nothing is for certain in crypto I think, as it moves so fast, and the price prediction might not work all the time, depending one the market reaction to certain issues. I am not a trader. But you certainly have a nice goal especially the HP goal, and all the best in achieving that goal my friend in 2025.

We cannot avoid risk; it's a fact of life. Whether we stay in legacy finance or in crypto, there is always risk. As I compare my crypto experience with the stock market, I could say that crypto is more advanced and very promising. Despite the huge price loss when I entered crypto in 2021, my overall portfolio remains positive. How much more if we witness a bull run?
