I'm not saying go ahead and start doing illegal stuff but a lot of successful people won't tell you that they had to break a few rules in the most professional way possible to win.
Elon Musk looks like a saint from heaven doing all the right things and obeying the law but he had to break it a little in his past. Somewhere in the 90s, Elon Musk was a student at Stanford University. A typical college student should probably be focused on his books and trying to pass his exams but Elon didn't follow that path at all, rather he was trying his very best to build his company. I guess the passion to bring change started early in Musk.
But the issue was that he was working without proper authorization to build Zip2 which was his very first startup. This move could have easily gotten him in big trouble with the government but thankfully he averted it. This guy is truly a risk taker because I don't think I would have had the heart to make the move he made.
Maybe it's not like he wanted to break the rule but he was way to passionate about his dream that he did it anyways.
Elon Musk didn’t stay in school for long, he spent almost all his time working on Zip2. He didn't even have legal permission to work in the U.S at that time.
This startup I'm talking about eventually sold for about $300 million and that was enough revenue to set the stage for his future in tech.
His story could’ve just ended there if things went south. Maybe succeeding with such a risky thing is what formed his habit of taking risk. I watched his documentary about SpaceX and he takes a lot of risk to launch those rockets, each costing him about 50 million dollars. I don't think I'll spend 50 million just to hope that a rocket will fly and land but that's exactly what it takes to run a multi billion dollar industry.
But that's not the main topic anyways. I believe because he came in as an immigrant, he supports Donald Trump views on immigration. Twist ending, hehehe.
I guess they have a lot in common when it comes to business . He's right though, it's Best to aim for creating your own business
