Competing with Elon Musk and all his industries is almost like trying to outrun the wind. The guy is a genius and knows how to push his team to deliver outstanding products. He also knows how to showcase prototypes well enough to get the attention of investors.
Right now the focus of Elon is on two things, AI and RoboTaxi Industry.
When it comes to the Robotaxi industry, Uber’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi understanfs that competing with Elon Musk is not going to be simple at all.
I actually like Dara' approach to this competition though. Since he knows how good Elon can be, he's not charging head-first into a rivalry with him but he has left some room for collaboration with Musk.
That's a very smart move because instead of blindly competing with a trillion dollar company like Tesla, you could still benefit from partnering with them.
But Elon Musk is focused on dominating the future of technology so I don't know if Uber trying to partner is a great idea. There's the possibility that Elon will try to take over the company if he gets enough control through the partnership.
Uber has proven that it can adapt very well and the company is already loaded with EVs on its platform. So I believe they're ready for whatever happens next.
But does this whole domination and monopoly game thing even make sense in the autonomous vehicle world? Maybe it doesn't at all. Khosrowshahi believes it doesn’t have to be that way. I think Uber can donate great job of carving out its space regardless, especially with companies like Waymo and Cruise already in the involved.
I will not be Happy at all if Uber ends up as just another tool in Tesla’s belt. It'll be much better if Uber stays independent while riding alongside the tech giants, rather than under them. The future of transportation is really bright but I hope no single company dominates because we've seen the downside of that. It'll affect innovation and quality of it's just one big player in this industry.
