Hello, hivers
This post is another model kit review for you. For this review, I'll be looking at the 1/35 scale kit of a WW2 3/4 ton Dodge truck that was equipped with an anti tank cannon. This kit was manufactured by Italeri. This is a vintage kit that was probably manufactured in the late 1980s or 1990s. The art work on the box was started in 1986, so it's no older than that.
The original that this model is based on was a world war 2 adaptation of the U.S. made 3/4 ton Dodge truck to equip it with a 37mm anti tank cannon on the back for more mobility.
Here is the video for this model kit review, the video is about 10 and a half minutes long.
I hope you found this video interesting, and thanks for watching!
Did the 37mm anti-tank gun actually anti-tank?
I do not remember anyone talking about them actually useful in the war.
Does this kit have a detailed engine?
The 37mm cannon was useful against the early war tanks, the Panzer 1 and 2, and the 38-T. It was marginal against the Panzer 3. It was also useful against armored cars. The American Stuart light tank had a 37mm main gun in the turret.
This model does not have any parts for an engine, the hood is not openable.
Looks like it's this gun or a variant. Odds are they were soon unable to handle a tank as armor advanced, but it would have been good against armored cars, half-tracks, etc.
